Even personal career, Ryan edges out Stafford. Ryan has also won an MVP.

They decide players likes RB, WR or safety aren’t worth it. A 25 year old franchise QB with FIVE YEARS left on his contract isnt the same dynamic.

ryan never had a season like stafford did his 3rd year. stafford was beat out because of rodgers going 15-1. MVP typically goes to the QB of the bets team or at least a top team. you don't win MVP on a non playoff team. there have only been 5 QBs in NFL history to throw for 5k yards. brees, brady, peyton, marino, and stafford. matt ryans MVP season was less impressive then staffords non MVP season

    What? Lol

Check out Ryan's 2016 and 2018 seasons. That beats out Stafford's 3rd season numbers, or at least literally approaches it. It was not less impressive by any means.

he's never thrown 40TDs or 5k yards like stafford did. ryan has been a great QB don't get me wrong but stafford has been better and done more with less

Ryan threw for 4,944 yards and 38 touchdowns in 2016. He basically nearly approached 5000 yards and 40 touchdowns.

So what you’re saying is they gathered picks... to trade them? Which is what they did to get Allen and then Diggs.

    basically but didn't

ryan is a great QB but not as good as stafford. even if i give you that one you can't name enough to knock stafford out of the top 10. being a top 10 QB for a decade is more impressive then having 3 good years to start a career.

What happened this year is that Brady left a team with no talent and went to Tampa Bay which was stacked with talent from Evans to Godwin. What it proves is that even if you have a championship quality QB it doesn't matter if they are getting sacked every play and have nobody to throw the ball to.

Watson isn't just a "good" QB. He's a GREAT QB, a top 3 in the NFL QB. I wouldn't trade two 1s for a "good" QB, either. For a GREAT QB who is a potential HOFer, it's a no-brainer, slam dunk trade to make.

top 3? i think we are overeating him a bit. mahomes, rodgers, wilson are probably the top 3. that doesn't include lamaar or josh allen. watson is an arguably top 5 QB

Wilson struggles when they don't have a solid run game, Watson does not. Watson accounted for 88% of the Texans total offense this year.

It's also laughable that you put Lamar Jackson in the same sentence as Mahomes, Rodgers, Watson, Allen, and Wilson.

Spot on. The people against this trade aren't thinking of the consequences if he goes to Miami. If he goes to Miami, the Jets might as well fold the franchise because they will have practically zero chance of winning anything for the next 10 years with both Watson and Allen in the division. The Jets would pretty much have an automatic 4 division losses every year. They'd have no chance of winning the division and probably not a very good chance of even getting a wildcard spot.

wasn't the argument here MVP? lamaar won one. he's had more success as a starter too. I was jsut naming the top QBs. I think the top 3 are fairly obvious with mahomes rodgers and brady (i forgot brady) after that it gets muddy. allen wilson jackson and watson are all in the argument hence he's arguably top 5 but he isn't top 3. I'd put wilson over him easily. it's really jackson, allen and watson after that for the 5th spot hence the term arguably top 5

Maybe MacCagnan DID draft the next Mahomes/Watson but we ruined him, just like we would have with Mahomes/Watson?

I don't think that's what it proves at all. The Pats went 12-4 with Brady last year. If anything it proves that a great QB makes up for tons of shortcomings everywhere else. The Bucs also went 7-9 without Brady last year.

they went 7-9 without brady and with having 8 opt outs including 2 staring lineman and 2 defensive pro bowlers. not to mention newton was by far the worst QB in the NFL this season. goes to show what coaching can get you. with the opt outs back and a better QB (they will find one) pats will be tough once again.

I was talking about the Bucs last year, not the Patriots this year.

Also Newton was not the worst QB in the NFL this year. He was horrendous but that award goes to your boy Darnold. :)

lol the bucs and pats basically traded records. I misread that but still the bucs stacked their team and winston cost them so many games. even adding a decent QB would have improved the bucs a lot.
