Atlanta doesn't have enough to trade. They'd have to give up their whole draft this year and Ryan and probably next year's 1st too.

Do you think there is behind the scenes stuff we don't know about that happened after the extension? It's possible. I haven't read all the rumors. I guess that makes more sense and he isn't just upset about going (4-12).

Eh. I don't really buy into the big media market being a thing for NFL players anymore honestly. If you're a stud in the NFL you'll get endorsement deals. Mahomes plays in the 26th sized market in the league. Derrick Henry in the 28th. Pittsburgh ranks 23rd and Troy Polamalu still has those damn head and shoulders commercials.

There might be some advantages in terms of endorsements but I think it's minimal especially since the good teams get national games simply because they're good. I think that theory holds a bit more true in baseball and basketball especially because they have smaller revenues and baseball is of course uncapped.

Deshaun won’t consider Miami a major bonus vs New York at least in terms of his finances. Yes the income tax is big, however the NY market increases a player’s earning capabilities from endorsements so much that that will be a moot point. He may prefer the team based on roster factors, or other personal relationships, but not based on money. His agent will advise him on that front no doubt.

The key remains getting Watson to waive his no-trade only for the Jets. We need a Jets version of Kyrie and Durant to pitch it to him.

Or maybe Kyrie and Durant could pitch it themselves...

There isn't supposed to be any non-team personnel in the arena.

With Douglas in charge and hiring Saleh, the NFL's views of the Jets are changing. With our cap space and draft picks we could build around Watson. It appears our organizational dysfunction and chaos are in the past.

Their #3 pick came from the Texans for Laremy Tunsil. As several posters have already pointed out, that would make them look stupid. With the Jets at #2, we could take the QB or player they wanted or we could trade out to a team who would do that. They also don't have the cap space to trade for Watson.

How has market size ever limited a great player from getting an endorsement though? Peyton Manning became the face of the league in the 27th sized market in terms of population size and is one of the highest paid endorsement athletes of all time. Same thing with Brees in ranking 31.

I don't think financials are a big concern given his contract earnings and the endorsements he's already signed either way though.

They wouldn't be throwing it all away. You should on an island by yourself. Not trading for him would be dumb.

I like Watson, but not fan of giving up draft capital for him. I am not on Darnold bandwagon either, but if one more year to get pieces around him might be ok. I am more for getting a new QB that salah and JD hand pick, and start from bottom up is my best case scenario.

ROFLMAO! You're nuts if you really think we could get Rodgers for less than that! SMH

Atlanta has thrown out the possibility that they could move on from Ryan and Julio Jones. Even if they don't use them as trade bait they could use them to get picks from other teams. I wish they weren't, but Atlanta is heavily in play for Watson.

I disagree. I think Rodgers will finish his career in GB. I think he loves LaFleur, and know he loves Davante Adams, his OL and his RBs. GB would be fools not to get him another WR in FA or the draft, and maybe another OL and TE, and try to win another SB or two before he hangs it up. IMO he is the GOAT, not Brady, not Brees, not anyone else.
