I'd much rather trade another draft pick. Quinnen Williams is on the teetering edge of becoming a superstar and trading him away creates a massive hole.

Quinnen Williams is not going anywhere. No chance. He's already top tier and is on his way to superstardom. Robert Saleh is going to build a defense around him, not trade him.

Just offer the No.2 overall and what we got from Seattle. (Their 1st this year and next). Nobody can beat that deal. Not Miami, Detroit, Atlanta. Nobody.

You would still hang onto a high 2nd rounder and 2 3rds this year and a 1st rounder next year. At the end of the day it would mean only trading Jamal Adams and a 1st round pick for Deshaun Watson, which is a damned steal

Totally agree with this. I would even do our first next year instead of Seattle's because ours will most likely be the better pick of the two.

If we got Watson that’s not automatically true. I think the deal would be for the higher pick. However it landed

And the Jets would still have 60M in cap after cuts and adding Watson's contract.

There's no other team that is better positioned to get Watson than the Jets. Everyone else would have issues with draft picks and cap.

    Damnit.

I already ordered one in Gotham Green, Spotlight White, and Stealth Black.

There is Watson “situation” that in anyway involves the Jets.

This is the perfect time to get Watson due to this year's receiving class. Dudes like Robinson and Golladay will be looking to play with a great QB. That's why I'm not too worried about the draft picks.

If this is what we offer, he's ours. The question is if Douglas will offer it.

Daniel Jeremiah tweeted this same trade. Interesting coming from him considering he is a friend of Douglas and has worked with him for a few years in Baltimore. A guy that likely knows what Douglas may be thinking.

Also keep in mind that in order for us to get him, Watson would need to waive his no trade clause for us. He chooses where he goes

Even if the Jets dish 3 first round picks and a 2nd, they would still have normal drafts.

They could dish Sam for a 2nd or 3rd so they would get that pick back.

Honestly... if it comes out that we didn't even make a competitive offer and the offer that gets it done is something similiar... I'll lose a MASSIVE amount of faith in Douglas. I do feel good about the fact that Jeremiah is tweeting this although he also was campaigning for Pederson and we didn't go that way (thankfully).

Yep. So the question is, do we want to 1) build around a rookie QB with a 2nd first rounder this year and 2 first rounders next year, 2) Sam Darnold and all the draft picks or 3) Deshaun Watson, and a normal draft

I mean... when you type it out like this, the answer is painfully obvious.

    That's exactly what it is.

Give me Watson + normal draft or go all in with a rookie QB with all our picks and cap.

So to escape a situation where he has inept owners, a recent history of organisational chaos and upheaval, a somewhat lack of all-pro supporting cast and no immediate relief coming due to a lack of draft capital, Watson is going to waive his no-trade clause to join the Jets who have inept owners, a grand history of organisational disfunction, lack of depth and presumably a lack of picks that it'd take to acquire him?

The Dolphins are far and away the better choice for him if they make an offer but I suspect the Texans will move heaven and earth to hire Bieniemy or default to Frazier (allowing Watson the desired input into OC) to keep him onboard.

Why do I suspect that the guys who told me that I was wrong and that giving up three second round pick to move up three lousy spots to get our savior Sam Darnold was a great idea are the same people that want to give up more than three first rounders to move up for Watson because they now believe that he is the chosen one and Sam Darnold sucks?

All we need to do is find an above average QB in free agency or the draft and surround him with talent.

We have the #2 draft pick and all of the cap space in the world.

It does not seem that difficult to build a team without Watson.
