I think the major players will be Jets, Miami, Pats, Washington, Chicago texans could get a bidding war
Frankly I doubt it because the 49ers are out of draft position to take a QB. The Texans would need #2 or #3 overall to take a QB. Texans can’t really afford to take Deshaun Watson’s accelerated proration plus Jimmy G’s salary.
I don’t see Washington or Chicago as players. Patriots should not be by all accounts, only reason it’s even worth noting are the Pats connection to front office. I’m not even sure there’s a great relationship because they didn’t want Caserio to leave
Once the league year starts, Garroppolo is cuttable with only a $2.8 million dead cap hit unless I'm reading it wrong. They have the cap space to make it work although it'd make their situation pretty tight. By moving Bosa they also avoid having to pay him.
Washington and Chicago aren’t afraid to take a shot with all those pics that’s why I put them in the mix. I could see them offer 3 first rounders.
I don't see him waiving his no trade clause to go to either of those QB graveyards. Washington has a pretty compelling supporting cast though with a good young receiver/runningback/tightend combination on their roster and a minority coach which is something he seems to value. But their organization outside of the football value has been an utter mess since the early 1990s with lawsuits galore under Snyder and the team name history.
Inexact sources but it's been floated out there. Deebo Samuel says no way. Of course their front office would likely not release relevant information either way but the internet sure doesn't care what they say. https://ninernoise.com/2021/01/17/sf-49ers-trade-nick-bosa-deshaun-watson/ https://sports.yahoo.com/nick-bosa-untouchable-49ers-deshaun-025808833.html
2nd overall + 34th overall + Seattle 2022 first + Jets 2023 first. Throw in Darnold for shits and giggles if that pick package doesn’t do it. This is a guy worth trading half of our farm for. We’d still have around 70M in cap after cuts and absorbing the Watson contract + a first round pick in each of the next two years.
For Houston to trade with any team , they are going to need to run out a new qb and draft cap this yr. I think it would take both 1sts this yr and our 1st next yr. Plus Watson would have to waiver his no-trade. I think he is going to make this so Toxic , that Miami gets him at a discount. He is only helped if they pay less. Xavier Howard, Tua , and 18th pick,
Doesn't make sense for the Texans to absorb that cornerback contract especially for a guy who will be off the team before they are competitive again. I think three firsts and Tua gets it done. One first round pick would be a massive failure. The Texans have tons of options and will have at least 3-4 suitors willing to pay a high price tag.
I am glad your not our GM. Your essentially giving like four first rounders as our second is just about one and one the 2nd pick overall that is ridiculously too much.
I think you’re talking about the 9ers but I’m talking about Houston. Houston can’t come out of this trade without a QB, whether it’s a legit starter or a pick high enough to take one.
He has. And I think they have a nice young offensive cast along with a great young defense in a weak division. It's an interesting fit, I just have a hard time seeing it.
