Imagine Brady was underpaid for a three time Superbowl champ and showed up to camp and continued to work while his agents hashed out all the paper work.

    Oh wait...

Because the Jets, under current NFL rules, have 32 million dollars a year less to play with....

You are exactly correct...and Cimini continues to talk as if his mouth is both a tool to communicate...and a vagina.

dude...his agents are a couple of morons....I GET IT!

S+F obviously have a different way of negotiating than other agents ...i don't like it anymore than you do.....does it mean that Revis still deserves a raise? HELL FUCKING YES!! He hasn't missed any of the regular season........so why are you still griping over a moot point?!

He's paid up....he's with the team....he's gonna start next Monday......stop fucking whining.

    fuck...people are stupid.

Extremely fundamental difference there. Brady has an expiring contract, so the Patriots had incentive to work out a new deal to keep him in town long term. Revis had 3 years left, so what incentive was there for the Jets to rework his deal? They may say they'll rework his deal, but the second theres difficulties negotiating, which there obviously were, Tanny and co. could easily just say screw you, play out your contract. And by then it is too late to hold out. They obv had the whole offseason to try and get close to a deal, to the point where Revis and co. could feel comfortable enough that something to get done without holding out. That obviously was not the case.

Poor analogy. Brady got a new contract after winning his 3rd and final Super Bowl, so at one time he was paid EXACTLY what a 3 time SB winner should have earned. Contract values increased around him, he didn't outplay who he was when he signed the deal. At the time, Brady's deal paid him more on average than Peyton Manning. Not to mention, Brady also received his first new contract with multiple years left on his deal.

Revis outplayed who he was when he signed his deal: a mid-1st round draft pick. Again, different situations.

Per a prison report the deal is 95% done, Revis' camp is demanding 1 more carton of smokes.

He held out for a while, now he's back.

    That concludes this thread.

    Thanks for posting.

    Goodnight!

You know what is crazy to think about? Tom Brady signed his deal like 5 years ago? His contract was 6 years/60 million (I believe). Look at the contracts now for top QBs, they have nearly doubled over a 5 year period.

And that's why the owners are going to lock out.

Ross Greenburg on WFAN 2mins ago said.. we will see 'somebody' going off on Darrelle Revis' agents tonight.

We will also see shit that happened in episode 2/3 that couldnt make the cut, because of the media blackout.

I think the outcome of this is not yet clear.

If he gets burned Monday night for 2 TD's, and the Jets lose, and this game happens to cost them home field in the playoffs, I think Jets fans have every right to be pissed.

If on the other hand he plays well Monday, I think the issue is over an dead.

I don't think the holdout was necessary to get THAT deal, I am quite sure he could have gotten this much earlier and been in camp.

That was Rex Ryan, and he admitted so on the radio yesterday.

He wanted the deal done that night of the meeting and apparenty went off after hearing they were still working things out.

    Few things:

    1) I don't think anyone should be admonished for having a problem with Revis having held out. It was a shitty tactic that most players don't resort to.

    2) No one should be getting pissed off at Revis for wanting more cash. First off, he outplayed his rookie deal, period. Second, the entire rookie contract was designed initially to explode this year, if Revis lived up to expectations, which he did.

    3) He's in shape. He might start a bit slow, but Revis at 90% is at least 10% better than any other corner in the league.

    4) Worrying about him getting injured because he missed camp is ridiculous. Were Jenkins and Leon in camp last year? Camp has nothing to do with getting injured.

    5) No one should be worrying about 4 years from now. We're a win-now team. Let's worry about a parade in February 2011 before we worry about training camp August 2014.

    6) Anyone who wishes any injury on Revis is a dick, a douchebag, and a complete asshole. Please do everyone else a favor and stop following the Jets because you are nothing more than a closet Miami fan. Embrace your sexuality and go dance with the stars.

First pick guaranteed money has gone from $10 million (Carson Palmer) to $45 million (Sam Bradford) in a 7 year span. That's what's insane and it's driving everything else.

There's a really good argument that the owners actually have a helluva lot more income than they let on to. That's the only factor that makes the explosive rise in top pick contracts make sense.

    No...Br4dw4y...

The rise in top pick contracts directly correlates to Duh Rayduhs consistently picking Top 5. :rofl2:
