Let's be honest. They don't consider the injury angle to be important, they recognize the opportunity to SAY that it's important. The reason Darrelle held out is that he deserves to earn more than his current contract. They picked this season because of the structure of the opt out and the ability to pretend that he's only playing for $1 million. They can use the injury argument, but I don't believe for one minute that they're really worried about that anymore. As far as why he's STILL holding out, we all agree he's an idiot. Now, it's just time to see how much of an idiot. As of right now, I'd say he's in the coorslightcans class: there's a hint of perhaps something more shrewd or calculated going on. Soon, he'll be in the TBDF class: idiot doesn't know he's an idiot and then wakes up one day and says "Shit...I'm an idiot."
I'd love to see AJ Smith in action. He just doesn't seem like the kind of GM who negotiates in a gentlemenlt manner. I can see him replying "fuck you, no." more than once. Especially with S&F.
AJ Smith has basically said that he doesn't talk to agents. They have someone else who contacts them directly. Probably a good idea.
I have revis tied up in my basement right now. I just carved a dollar sign into his forehead. Will have pic posted soon
Anyone seen this girl LaurNYJ on twitter? She tweets at mangold and keller 24/7. Now she's tweeting at GeigerGeiger telling him she hopes everything works out.
I don't follow twitter. Does she seem like a girl who chases players or is she just a super fan of the team.
Vincent Jackson's three-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy kicked in Saturday afternoon. Since the Chargers placed him on the Roster Exempt list, he's not eligible to play until three games after he signs and reports. In other words, V-Jax will now miss the first six games of the season, and the possibility of a trade just went way down. Chances are, the Chargers will control his rights throughout the season. There's a growing possibility that Jackson won't play a down in 2010. Marcus McNeill, also on the Roster Exempt list, can't play before Week 4. Woooooooooooooooooooooooo
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread (10 Days Until MNF) How stupid does a player have to be to miss a whole season of something they're supposed to love and get paid millions to do it? They only last so long, and with a lockout on the horizon I'd do whatever it takes to play this year. It really is puzzling. Does anyone have a number of the players that have done this over the years? I'm sure back in the day when a mans word meant something this never happened. I know, I know it works both ways.
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread (10 Days Until MNF) Oh god yeah, she begs them for autographs every other tweet. I don't know how they put up with it.
Nykie Just saw Revis on a Nike thing. He yells a lot. If he doesn't play I guess he can do a new one every week. Oh I forgot, no one wants you if your no longer playing. Never mind.
Revis thought he was bigger than the team. Guess what buddy, you're not. Enjoy the year from your hideouts in Pittsburgh counting your missing $12 million / year. Seriously, what a fucking dumbass, I can't believe how stupid this guy turned out to be
