BTW I loved how Bradford looked in pre-season... ok it's only pre-season but the way he throws and the way he stands on the field is just... wow.

We'll see if he holds it up in the regular season...

I think the Chargers made a serious error in judgement in cutting Jackson and McNeill's tenders the way they did. They essentially cut off any chance of a resolution to the holdouts short of a trade and they probably cannot get trade value for either of those two that will clearly benefit the team.

They should have just let the original tenders stand as an incentive for Jackson and McNeill to report, even if it was after the start of the season. Putting them on the roster exempt list was also a bad idea, since it lessened their trade value in the event that the Chargers and players are unable to reconcile.

There's something to be said for just sitting back and letting events run their course after you've made your best effort to resolve them favorably. Instead the Chargers have doubled down at every chance to do so and are no closer to winning the bet, just less likely to profit from secondary alternatives if they cannot.

The Chargers are setting an example. Other players will think twice before pulling what Jackson pulled. The Jets need to make Mevis an example if he takes this holdout too far, otherwise there will be more Mevis holdouts on the Jets. Fortunately we have an organization that will NOT be bullied by a punk and his punk agents.

Buffoons don't build 12-4 teams every year.

The Chargers are looking at a real deterioration in their Super Bowl window with the absence of McNeill and also to a lesser extent Jackson. They've got a prime time QB right now and they're letting a year of his top level play go by without a couple of people critical to his success. I think the example they are setting is that they are perfectly willing to bite off their nose to spite their face. Note that I'm not suggesting they should have bent to Jackson's demands just that they should have been more circumspect in reacting to them. They're just plain nuts to have let the situation with McNeill get to where it has.

The Jets have been very careful not to burn any bridges or take actions that would push Revis away from the team. Given his contract status it's basically all on him to resolve this at this point and that's mainly because the Jets have kept the volume as low as they could and avoided publicly antagonizing Revis. All the noise in the standoff is apparently coming from Revis camp and for the Jets that's a good development at this point.

I didn't expect a clown like you to understand a complicated argument that is based on future implications of caving in to bullying tactics.

So you honestly expect people to flock to the Chargers after the way they've fucked their players who outplayed their contracts or were royally fucked by the CBA?

Even though the LT position is more important, I think the VJax situation is a harder hit. They really like Dombrowski in place of McNeill. One of the reasons they didn't give McNeill a longer term offer is that they're not confident in his ability to continue to hold out. He slipped in the draft because of concerns over his back, and apparently those concerns are still there. He's obviously a huge asset, but there was less that they were willing to do with him. They don't want to pay franchise LT money to a guy with that much risk, Pro Bowls or no.

Yeah, the Jets haven't made many mistakes in all of this.

Essentially, this is a dick-measuring contest between Revis' agents and the Jets. No man wants to lose that one. Maybe they can find a way to call it a tie.

The Jets agreeing to the media blackout was a gift to S&F, we've yet to see them respond with a single sign of good faith.

This situation could very easily become a dick measuring contest. The reason the jets haven't put out anything in the press is to prevent it from becoming such a contest. Also from watching Tannenbaum his negotiating style is to prevent this from happening. BTW, this is the sign of someone who is a professional negotiator and knows what he's doing.
