I don't think so... they have a job to do and they want to get it done, Revis or no Revis.

It sucks that he's not with the team and may not be. But it's pointless to get too emotional, particularly when posters take it so far as to be embarrassing. I may be upset, but I don't think Revis is personally trying to ruin my life. It's a game to us, even an avocation to follow the team. But while it's also a game to the players and the owners, it is also a business.

of course it's a business. I don't like the fact that Revis is holding out......but i'm not gonna make dumbass comments to facilitate some pointless rage. I'll express my displeasure if week 1 rolls around and he's still holding out....because at that point, shit will begin to MATTER.

You can tell who the real fans are from the jabronees quite easily on this board. :)

Who exactly on the team is he majorly distracting? I've watched every episode of Hard Knocks and the only people who have even mentioned him are Ryan, Pettine, and Tannenbaum. Oh, and the narrator.

Revis is only a distraction to Jets fans and only because there is absolutely nothing else to bitch about right now and Jets fans cannot see a silver lining without a big black cloud inside it.

Oh, and wishing injury on anyone is pretty dickish. There are no words for wishing it on your own team's players.

Hey, wait a second! I'm Ital-- Oh. Wait.

Right. Which is why every time the narrator brings up Revis it segways into another rant by one of the players in the locker room about how big a dick Revis is.

I should have been more clear. I was merely saying I share your displeasure with those who are being too emotional and taking this whole thing personally, or so they sound.

It's just plain silly for a "fan" to say even at this point that they hope Revis suffers some injury or is gone, never to play for the Jets again, and that is a good thing. Silly is only part of it.

Fyi at this point I think it more likely than not his holdout goes at least one or two games into the season.

I picked up on that, BB....no need for clarification. :)

I'm hoping the holdout ends before week 1.....the Revis camp is playing with fire now....if the Jets go into week 1 and 2 playing stellar defense.......they'll clearly be behind the 8-ball in this tug-o-war.

Yes, because clearly HBO would have no incentive to edit that into the show. There couldn't possibly be a dramatic purpose for doing so, which is why they've left all those conversations out.

some day Jets fans will realize football existed before Revis. I literally have friends texting me asking about Revis almost daily, some of them arent even Jets fans and theyre more concerned with his return than i am.

why am i even typing? this thread has become a cesspool

it's not just the thread....this situation as a whole is one big turd.

I can't imagine what the board will be like if this holdout extends well into the season.

yes, because professional athletes whose success is dependent on their confidence, of which this team has a lot of successful players and coaches, are certainly now suddenly insecure about their ability to perform because Revis is absent.
