Willie's logic follows, assuming his assumptions are correct. basic logic example assumptions I want money A job pays money thus If I get a job, I will get the money I want which is more or less what Willie did. its a standard if A then B argument. In order to obtain the desired goal of C. Willies logic is flawless (provided his assumptions are correct) yours on the otherhand is flawed in its essence. Just because grass is green and boogers are green, does not mean they are the same thing. If your assumption was All green things are grass and boogers are green then the logical conclusion to draw is that boogers are grass. again, this provides that the assumptions are correct. However, in your example we know there are green things that exist that are not grass, so your assumptions are false, subsequently making the entire argument false. --------- back to Willies example regarding Revis Assumptions: Revis wants a specific sum of money. If the Jets to poorly, Revis gets the money. (I don't necessarily agree with this) Conclusion: Revis wants the Jets to do poorly does anyone really feel his assumptions are incorrect? If Revis wants 16.1 million dollars, and hasnt gotten it to this point, the only real reason for the jets to cave to this demand is that they start out poorly. If they start out 4-0, do you really think the jets are suddenly going to decide to shell out 16.1 million to a guy they have proven not to need just yet? I don't. So the only logical reason for the jets to cave at this point, is if they start poorly out of the gate. Thus we can conclude the only way revis gets paid his 16.1 million per year is if the jets do poorly. So we conclude that Revis wants the Jets to do poorly, so he can get paid. For those saying, "oh no no no, he doesnt want his friends and teammates to lose!" Well the easiest way to prevent them losing is for him to get his ass into camp and get prepared. He also appears to have proven he has determined his own worth to be more important than the worth of the team. So as a result i seriously doubt it will bother him to see his teammates lose 2 or 3 early games to get paid.
