I'm sorry, but you have to be a complete idiot and believe that Revis is an idiot to buy that this hold out is the Jets fault for raising an extension with Revis. So in January Revis was all set to play for $1 milliion this year and bide his time. The Jets approach him and offer to extend/increase his pay for outperforming his current deal.

A light bulb then goes off in Revis' head and he arrives at the conclusion, based on this offer by the Jets to discuss an extension/increase, that, come to think of it, he not only deserves an extension and increase in pay for this upcoming season, but he should be the highest paid CB in the league, deserves $16 million a year over ten years, and will not play football this year if he does not get it.

Riiiigggghhhhhhht. Damn you Tannenbaum. Why didn't you just keep your mouth shut and Revis would have been in camp and playing for a $1 million salary this year?

I still don't get those who honestly believe that the Jets offering to extend and increase Revis' current contract translates into committing to pay Revis more than any Jet in history and any CB in football????

If Revis does not sign by Monday, he is gone and he isn't ever coming back. Let his ass rot on the couch. I wouldn't trade him or pay him. I'd treat it is as if he had a career ending injury, which is what he has - to his brain.

Dude no worries.... I just heard from my inside sources that Revis was so distraught with being called "greedy" and fans telling Revis he is "ruining his career", he called the Jets to sign.

I'm sorry, but I haven't seen anyone who believes that.

I went to the game last night and went to the Jets new stadium store and asked the staff why the Revis jerseys weren't on sale for $5 each . They are close to being as valuable as Favre jerseys.

I have seen that in this thread over and over and over again. Your prior post implies that.

No, it really doesn't. Care to be more specific with the posts 'over and over again' claiming that conversation means the team should make him the $16 million man?

ha. you don't have any inside sources. and he is a greedy, vain, egomaniacal a-hole.

i hope he trips today, destroys his achilles tendon and can never play again and gets no more money. that would be a just punishment for his greed. people are starving on this planet and this dick just wants to be paid 'the most.'

as a fan, i don't want him on the team anymore at any price. i don't care how good he thinks he is. i have no patience for diva douchebags.

If he signs, I will bet my left nut that his first interception of Brady, the Darrelle Revis House of Worship is going to be packed.

If he's never playing for us again, I'd rather get something for him in a trade, rather than have him end his career and we get nothing. Of course, I'd vastly prefer he comes back.

I hope I don't see you excited about his play after that statement. I'm guessing, however, that you will be.

See, you think rationally. But for me, if Revis won't play for us, he shouldn't be playing for anyone else. Fuck him.

I was completely understanding of Revis getting his business done, these players have one shot to get paid a lot of the time. That said, he missed the dress rehearsal with what sounds like a more than fair offer on the table and it's now hurting the team. I'm of the opinion that he's being selfish at this point. I hope he comes back, but my opinion of him has changed.

Get your selfish ass in camp Revi$.

Obviously you'd want to get something for Revis, but you have to question his value. Sure, he's the best corner in the league, but his asking price is insane. I honestly don't see teams lining up to pay the guy $16 million a season, let alone giving up the farm to do so.

I have a feeling that, if Revis returns, hes going to get boo'd to death by JETS fans. At first, many were on his side but now, as each week goes by, everyone seems to be frustrated with him. Not the JETS because many figure hes the one thats being stubborn. IF he gets exactly what he wants, I feel that he must catch every football that touches his hands and pretty much show everyone why your the highest paid CB. Dont get what you want, all cocky, and then get beat on play after play.

I have a feeling that you are 100% incorrect in your statement.
