They would if Revis is adamant about sitting out this season and all seasons thereafter if he doesn't get the contract he wants. Rather than put him in semi-retirement and get nothing out of those 3 years, the Jets could get a few nice pieces out of a team. Again, this is all hypothetical.
with the crazies running rampant with the rumors here, did anybody check to see where Revis' agents are located? because he could be making a statement from their office, which for all we know is actually located in dallas.... As far as the trade to dallas goes, they would have to give up so much to us, it would be totally insane of them to swing a trade for us, and then give revis 160 million.
If he doesnt want to take less money I would let him F him self over and not play football for 2 years!! Let him be the a real dumb ass. That is my view on selfish revis.
Ok so Bradway sucks writes one sentence about a Dallas trade... Rockefella writes a post with a few bullet points... and everyone starts freaking out about a trade to Dallas? This thread has gotten out of control with hysteria
According to their site, the area codes 914 and 845 are both in New York, which corresponds to their office and fax numbers. Westchester, NY apparently.
well so much for that thought. but is there any actual info that the tv interview is in dallas? or did we just basically make that up? this thread spiraled so quickly its hard to discern...
Ha. We're not trading Revis to Dallas... ...unless we're completely unable to sign him. If Revis were traded to Dallas, it would mean that the $12.2 million average value contract wasn't going to bring Revis back to the Jets. The only reason Tanny pulls the trigger on a trade is if Jerry Jones is ready to open up his wallet for the guy in a way that we could never do. It would mean that Jerry views this as his ONE chance to get to the SB this season, while Tanny refuses to sacrifice the future well being of the team and reward Darrelle with a $16 million average value contract. The people criticizing a trade to Dallas need to realize that the only way it gets done is if we have NO CHANCE of bringing him back in this year. In that situation, getting a solid player and picks, and making it possible to resign our other players, would be a hell of a lot better than taking our chances on a Revisless SB this season and facing this nightmare all over again next year. Like I said, it's not going to happen. However, the circumstances necessary to MAKE it happen would make it a much smarter deal for the Jets than people are giving it credit for.
If we as fans are going this crazy in a forum thread related to Revis I wonder what the beat-writers and columnists around the NFL are acting like right about now. I'd get a pretty good laugh if we see 'Potential Revis trade to Dallas' articles popping around in a few hours. I bet a few of these hacks read TGG.
