My best guess would be that he gave them deniability since Cowlishaw could have known about this through HBO or independently through Deion Sanders (who could have been talking out of turn about things he heard from any number of people close to Revis.) Cowlishaw is also obviously respected enough by the professional NFL media community that he would not be automatically shout down, as we have heard multiple people in that community say over the last few days. If the Revis camp wanted to begin this process can you think of a better person to use than Cowlishaw?
In all this mess, if the Revis reports are true, then kudos to Tannenbaum for another job well done. Tanny has been battle tested and always seems to come out unscathed.

I have a practical question at this point... IF Mevi$ signs a big contract (details TBD), he puts a big freaking bullseye on his jersey. If they end up paying him how he performed last year, he better perform at that level or better. Mevi$ has gone to great lengths to - hypothetically - get the contract he wants (or something pretty darn close) and HE BETTER DELIVER. What happens if he doesn't given the hysteria and inflated expectations?
This can't be right. Revis has no connection to Dallas at this point. He's a Pennsylvanian playing in New Jersey. Tim Cowlishaw or not the only reason Revis would pick a Dallas station to interview with was if he was being paid beaucoup dolar by them or he was doing his welcome to Dallas interview after being traded to the Cowboys. If Revis recorded an interview with a Dallas news station this is becoming just surreal at this point. It's like Natural Born Killers meets the NFL.
