Do you honestly believe this has anything to do with Woody holding onto money? And how many of those CB's you refer to made $16 million over the past 3 years?

I think Woody wants to give him a great contract...But Revis is shooting for the moon. He wants the best cb contract right now. Which is tough for the Jets.

    So Revis is being ridiculous?

If a guy isn't getting paid, and his All Pro colleagues aren't getting paid, guess who is....

First of all, no where in that post did I say Revis was being ridiculous. What I did is show a little bit why your post was short sighted (at best).

I do think Revis' team is being unreasonable if they are truly demanding Aso money. His contract is the result of a) finishing his rookie contract, b) being franchised twice, c) Al Davis being a rtard and trying to be smart by giving him a 3 year contract that essentially mirrored the franchise tag which is not smart at all if you think about it.

Not only does Revis' team want a deal that stemmed from pure stupidity, they want a long term deal (not just a 3 year) that matches that. Revis never finished his rookie deal that he held out for, and has never been franchised. They also don't seem to be considering the restrictions in place by the lack of the CBA.

I agree and I didn't name the article. BUT I'm a little disappointed in Revis right now. His head is getting way to big for his britches. He has 3 years left, honor it or negotiate quietly. He's disrupting the whole team. IMO!

I hate prima donnas. I really do.

I agree with everything except Revis' absence being a negative for Hard Knocks. Revis being the best DB on the field doesn't make for interesting TV. the coaches, front office and players continuously talking about his absence and what it means to the team is the good drama. I guarantee HBO is thrilled with the hold out.

I think it is Revis who is the bigger dummy. Haynesworth has gotten paid and has nothing to lose, he just looks like a whiny POS. Revis, on the other hand, has walked away from guaranteed money that is fair and has the potential to derail a magical Jet season, and if he does it will never be forgotten by Jet fans.

I'm sorry, I thought Revis had a contract as well. My bad.

At least he's not fat and at camp. Oh, wait.

At least Revis has a case...His contract is not justified. Tell me, how is Haynesworth not the bigger asshole? He is making $100 million dollars and he is still complaining.

I agree Haynesworth is a bigger asshole, but that isn't the question. It's biggest dummy, not asshole. I don't think either one is a dummy.

that post from Bent helped to clear things up for me some.

I honestly think the representation for Revis is completely confused when it comes to contracts, as are most people.

they probably don't understand all the details, all they know is their boy deserves to be paid a ton of money and are angry there is any hesitation to accede to their demands.

the only hope here is Revis gets ancy for football and starts to question their logic a little bit more, as his people refuse to bend even a little. or maybe some NFL vet will give Revis a call and have a heart to heart about reality.

Clearly you fail reading and comprehension 101 as you clearly didn't read my closing statement, so I'll repeat it for you.

"Well you get the point, lots of people cripple and die to provide a service to us. If you want to argue that NFL players deserve 10's of millions because they deserve a share of the profits since they are the product the NFL sells, then I'll go along with that. But if your going to sell the argument that they deserve 10's of millions because they risk injury or are destroying their bodies playing a game they've played for free all the rest of their previous lifes? Puhlease. I know lots of people who play football recreationally, I've yet to meet someone to digs coal recreationally. "

Nothing Marxist or socialist in my statement, except that players deserve a share of the portion of profits since they are the product the NFL sells, which co-incidentally is your argument, or part of it, that because the NFL is a multi billion dollar business players deserve a share of that profit that is a basis of Marxism that the working man deserves a fair share of the profit pie, and it's one part of Marxism we've adopted and NOONE complains about.

I never said NFL Players don't deserve Millions of dollars, i Just said they deserved Millions of dollars because they are the product the NFL sells. What I did say was they don't deserve millions just because they basically "destroy their bodies", your words, while we watch.

Again, I'll repeat since you clearly didn't comprehend, Football players deserve millions because they are the product we watch that the NFL packages. They don't deserve millions just because they risk injury or disability for our "enjoyment".

    The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread

Since Revis wants a lot of guaranteed money. How will we get around the reallocation rule? As I mentioned earlier any guaranteed money counts towards the 09 cap, which we were $300,000 under at this point.

How would a deal work at all? I must be missing something.

Thats exactly why Revis is the bigger ahole Haynesworth got paid Revis will not be paid if he's a no show. and may loose 20 mil in guarantees. All for the almighty buck. I for one will never give Revis a second look if he ruins this season. We have waited a long time for this opportunity and if Revis want's to sit it out screw him. we should then let him sit the next 3 years and see what his talent will look like after not playing for 3 years. NUFF SAID.
