Hopefully it's all a ploy to avoid training camp (albeit a shitty one) The Presence of Revis makes a good defense ELITE. His absence will affect some of the play calling, blitzes, etc..... If his sitting out this season helps cost the JETS a ring, then let him sit at home for the duration of his contract. I really don't see how much leverage he really has. If it was the last year of his contract, maybe...... but with 2 more left he can sit out during his physical prime and make zero dollars over 3 years, and hurt his future value. This isn't even taking a potential lockout into consideration I love him as a player, and his on field leadership, but if he wants to play this game of ridiculous demands, then let him sit home & watch the JETS give money to other quality team players who's contracts are about to expire. :shit:
Back to Deep Impact. To this day, I'll never understand why that chick gave up her seat in the chopper at the last minute. She could have easily squeezed in without risk of going over the weight limit for all occupants. Hot news chicks weigh what, at the most, 120 lbs?
That's what I thought too and then found this. Says he is married with a daughter. I wasn't aware of that at all...if it's true. Thing is I also saw somewhere else he has a girlfriend. Maybe he does need the money after all. http://www.myspace.com/darrellerevis
It was the thought of doing network news for the rest of her life. That'll make anybody give up a lifeline. Back to Revis: he's hanging onto the skids on the chopper kicking Mangold and Harris in the face as he tries to climb aboard into the one seat left. There were 3 or 4 seats a few months ago but his agents, his entourage and ultimately his demands are going to fill the other seats at this point leaving room for nobody else.
He grew up in a house with 14 other people, so it's likely he's talking about extended family. That was my take when we heard "he's got a family too". Given that many athletes have different feelings about family obligations when it comes to extended family, my initial take was that I wouldn't judge what he needs in that regard. However, then I remembered that Uncle Sean made a shitload of money thanks to his own holdout. There can't possibly be any family left in need at this point.
LOL I remember an article about Revis's family in the Times a few years ago. I'm pretty sure most of them are still living in his old rundown town, which makes me wonder: where the fuck did Uncle Sean's money go?
I'm guessing the people picking them up to get their salad tossed in a Wendy's parking lot aren't going to care.
