i'm too cheap to subscribe to Newsday....which is why i couldn't see the article. then Glauber is an asshole.....because his tweet "D.Revis to the Ravens?".....is a pathetic way to drum up subscriptions....he's worse than the ESPN Insider.
Tannenbaum is going to trade for a corner but he's not trading Revis for one. Revis has three years to sit and stew if that's what he wants to do..maybe 4 if there is a lockout.
Considering that both sides have agreed to not allow any of the negotiations be leaked to the press, is it possible that they've progressed and we'll find out more on Hard Knocks?
I can see an issue with this. Does the Hard Knocks crew have access to everything? If they do, there's a good chance that they have film on Tanny, Rex, or Woody talking about Revis. Now, I'm sure the Jets can tell HBO not to air anything on Revis. It will be interesting to see what is aired today.
No Chance. My Guess, is that he's not going to profit anything by coming into camp at this point, only risk injury...While everyday brings the possibility of a high ankle sprain, or knee injury that enhances his postion from the nothing he's holding now. I doubt we'll see anything in the next two weeks.
The Players Union asked Revis to have things kept quiet about negotiations specifically as a result of Hard Knocks, so I doubt they'll even mention the negotiations on the show.
We may find out about the progress but Im thinking we wouldn't be hearing any numbers again until the deal is done.
Getting one's hopes up? What really sucks about all this, and I think everyone here feels this, is that this holdout is risking the best shot this team has had to go to the SB in a long, long time, putting aside the debate whether that was 99 or even further. One doesn't have to be a darksider to see the very real possibility that this is NOT resolved, and then we watch the season unfold without Revis. Anything short of an SB berth, or even a win, will be grounds not so much for second guessing the failure to reach a deal but what would have happened if he was on the team. Would it have been enough? It's really a nightmarish prospect, bound to cause many restless nights, hangovers, even thoughts of suicide. Well, maybe not suicide. Heh.
He's not coming to camp without a new deal, he made it this far into his holdout there's no point coming back now. I still think he plays this year but I'm not expecting him in camp at all
Right. But...unless the Jets are removing offers from the table, signing today as opposed to three weeks from now profits him nothing.
See, I don't think he has a choice except to play. The problem for me, is historically holdouts get hurt....
