Again take your douche goggles off for a minute and tell me what great player isn't made better by a great coach. Revis was a great player in 2008. My argument is with the idiots saying Revis is a system player. If that is your argument than the retard shoe fits. If it is not then why the fuck are you even replying to me..........
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread ($40 million apart) I disagree. We're not talking about a specialized, unique role here. He's essentially asked to blanket and jam teams' #1 receiver and play man coverage. In other words, to be a great fucking corner. His talents may not be as well used in a zone defense, but it's not like Rex's system made him.
Gee a smart opinion, go figure. Funny nowhere did you mention the holdout, greed and if the Jets should or should not pay him. Could it be those things don't affect his on field talents.....do tell? Say it ain't so....
The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread ($40 million apart) Check 17A's thread about the new stadium. This isn't even close yet.
fuck, how hard is it to be honest about the situation? just because he is holding out doesn't mean Revis isn't as good as we thought he was when he wasn't. does the internet make people emotional wrecks, or are emotional wrecks simply drawn to it, because no emotionally stable person could possibly post the ridiculous shit I've seen in this thread.
"Jets looking at Miles Austin" has twice as many page views as the Mevi$ holdout thread. This thread is #3 in replies, the PSL thread is #1 by three times as much _
Profootball focus' take on the Revis situation. Should they pay or should he go? Darrelle Revis Visit the site for better formatting.
Haven't really read everything in this thread but seeing how some are saying Revis is more of a system player is amazing. This guy may have had the best season EVER by a CB last year. The fact is he has made the system itself better! He locks down the best WR on the other team and allows the other side to be zoned off or covered in other ways. This guy is by FAR the best CB in the league and I believe the best defensive player overall in the league. You guys saying this nonsense are something else. When it comes to his holdout I think this very likely is a season long thing. The Jets have a 3 year deal w/him and have no reason to move on it.
Jesus....this is a long thread. So has the majority concluded that Revis is being a selfish douche? I hate to see this happening. This team has such high hopes, and for one of its best players to ask for this kind of money is pretty ridiculous. These holdouts rarely go well for the player in terms of performance and staying healthy when they finally do report. Also...it seems to me that the guys who want to renogotiate but still report and remain patient about a new deal, are typically rewarded with a fair deal sometime in the early portion of the season.
'nough said: "If the rumors are to believed (the Jets offering a lengthy deal at $12 million per year), it’s safe to say the Jets are doing right by Revis, especially at a time when he holds no leverage because of the years he has left on his contract. And why would he want to leave a team that everyone believes has Super Bowl talent with him on the field?"
I don't think most people take any issue with him deserving a raise but it's the I want to be the highest paid player in the league and if I'm not I'm sitting out garbage that has people riled up. If he was in his last year, fine but the guy has 3 years left on his deal. Pay him more than Champ, more then Clements, more than all those guys but you can't get "scrabble" money by virtue of the Raiders having no clue how to run a franchise.
thats nice except the verdict is to work it out... thats what they should do but it doesnt resolve anything.
