Depends how you define "Top". It does in some ways, doesn't in others. I still lean towards TDK for the Joker alone, but the action in TDKR is better for sure.
Nolan's take on Riddler would have been very interesting. I'd imagine he would be more of a business man instead of the psycho like Jim Carrey's Riddler.
Headed to my first IMAX showing ever for a movie. I'll let you guys know tonight if it is worth the extra money.
Great Movie. Loved the story line, special effects, acting, everything about it. Not gonna be a spoiler here. Don't let what happened in Colorado put you off from going to see this movie. It rates up there with avengers and perhaps a bit better as the characters are more familiar due to this being the third movie. Its a long movie so go easy on the large cokes as unless you like your back teeth floating, you'll miss something on a trip to the head. Again, loved everything about the movie. Can't wait for the BluRay.
Awesome movie. Great end to the trilogy. My only problem with it was I could only understand half the stuff Bane was saying...Any of you had this issue?
Agreed, awesome movie. Though, there's gonna be Batman and Robin, so I don't think it's the end for Nolan's Batman series...
Recent quote: "You can't keep doing these things forever like episodes in a TV series," he says. "I like the idea of a story with a beginning, middle and an end. Most directors don't get a chance to do that."
DC Comics needs to work on Superman and other characters... Follow what Marvel has done to monetize the entire porfolio...
IF they're thinking "Justice League" 2014, they'd better get cracking on developing the other characters they'll need.
apparently what could have been was a truly awful movie if it even remotely resembled that complete piece of shit of a fan poster. what about that poster fits the tone of the Nolan movies? not the completely dumb fuck title Gotham Knights. and especially not the hokey tagline "Guess Who?" I know who, shitty fan boy! thank God Nolan has a better grasp on the characters and movies.
IMAX was amazing and yeah, this is the final one. Unforunate, as there are many ways the story could pick up for a 4th one. Nolan has done an amazing job though and leaving the fans wanting more proves it.
Someone will eventually do the batman films again...but the whole focus will shift to superman series, flash, wonder woman, justice league
Very good movie. I think for me I put Avengers ahead of TDKR just because the Avengers was newer and this was the 3rd iteration of the movie. I can definitely see why many people will favor this over Avengers though. This had less action than TDK, but the story in this was great (never read the comic books). I also really like the ending. Bane was really well created and acted. Doing another villian after what Ledger did with the Joker is some big shoes to follow. Anne Hathaway was great too, she had some really good acting I thought.
Technically, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America came before The Avengers, so you could say it was the 6th movie in that line of movies and less fresh. But I would not say that, as I really liked The Avengers. It was more of a fun, relaxing prototypical Superhero movie, but done to perfection. The Dark Knight Rises is again a great drama Nolan has created, which happens to also involve comic book characters.
Good point, I guess I meant together. It was always rumored it was leading up to an Avengers movie. A minor point on something you wrote, I don't think TDK was a great superhero movie, it was a great villian movie. The Joker absolutely took that movie to the next notch. Can I post spoilers in here if I use a light font? I want to discuss something that bothered me but maybe makes more sense to the anyone who knows the Batman story better. And I want to ask a question that might be spoilerish.
