So is Trapasso a good punter? Has anyone been watching him closely? Frankly, I've only seen that one play of him. It was bad-ass, very bad-ass; but I don't really give a shit if my punter can pull off a bad-ass run. I'd prefer a transsexual 50 year old Frenchman with a boot over a bad-ass with a weak leg.

I hope we claim Jack Ikegwuono. Seems like a tough, physical DB Rex could groom for a couple of years.

The Raiders cut DT Terdell Sands. He's a big boy at 6'7" and 335lbs. He could be a solid reserve lineman, though he may be too tall to be an effective nose. I actually wouldn't mind if the Giants brought him in, a space-eater is the one type of lineman we lack.

I'd take any of those 3 over Hodges.

    Some interesting Niner's cuts:

I'm really surprise the Niner's cut Kory Sheets...he was having a great pre-season. Maybe they didn't count his yards against the Pop-Warner defense of the Raiders. TE Bear Pascoe was also a mild surprise....a player I really like. Pannel Egboh is a decent 3-4DE the Jets could use for depth.

    Didn't See him Mentioned

    Leonard Pope, TE, 6'8'' 265

He's only been in league for a few years. I know we just brought in guy from Atlanta, but Pope sounds like a better option

We did not cut Hodges, so, I'm guessing he's our guy. I'd like to sign Trapasso though.

I doubt we would cut Hodges untill we sign another punter.....it's a bidding war.

We think it's funny because Booty backed up Leinhart and Sanchez backed up Booty so it would be a complete reversal of their college days.

In his news conference Ryan said this may not be the final roster and changes could be made by Tuesday. They had their eyes on a couple of players.

A couple names that jump out to me:

    Lydon Murtha Tackle from Nebraska.
Zack Thomas did he retire, or hurt? could be decent depth
    Mario Urrutia
    Marcus Monk
Jacob Bender - wasn't he pretty good in college? don't know much about him, but name sticks out to me.
Graham Gano - I watched one game where he was punting, and put it inside the 5 3 times in arow.
Victor Hobson - could be good inside MLB depth.
    Trevor Canfield

I don't know much about many of them, but could provide upgrade in depth.

We have enough LBs so no Zack Thomas.
Mario Urrutia was ours but we cut him after like 5 days to resign Whittaker, I guess that says a lot.
JAcob Bender was a Jet in 2007 and in 2008 we cut him... for the guys we have onthe roster now.
I don't know about the other guys but these 3 aren't going to play in NY.
