I think the guy will be able to find a spot in the NFL and I hope we keep him on the PS because he could be a project if Rex has a enough time with him. Sadly that Baltimore game exposed his ability at this stage of his career but if we are honest nobody on the team could say he was given a teaspoon of help that night.
Ftr I agree that picking Fiedler as Chad's backup was one of hte most stupid moves ever. They didn't even make him earn the #2 spot - there was no Qb comp whatsoever that year. Fiedler was the one Qb in the whole league who was more fragile than China Dollington. Certainly one of hte Jet FO's worst moves in the last ten years, but failing to get OL backup after Turner went down this last off season was imo up there.
The kid was in an impossible situation. Came to the team two weeks before with no experience in the system and then had to face the likes of Tommy Kelly, Seymour and Ngata. Not a recipe for success. Depth on the O-line has to be developed and the Jets have done a good job with that group as guys like Turner, Hunter and Slauson stepped in and did well after having some time in the system. I hope he is back on the PS and comes to camp next year. He has some decent potential and was a 4 year starter in the Pac-10 so he is not completely devoid of ability.
Hopefully he can take something out of the experience of being thrown to the wolfs and do well on the practice squad.
TheJetsStream Manish Mehta How about this: I've been told C Colin Baxter opted to return to Chargers & sign w/their practice squad over Jets PS after clearing waivers TheJetsStream Manish Mehta #Jets will also be bringing back OL Matt Kroul to their practice squad in the coming day(s), per source Offensive lineman Dennis Landolt will be re-signing with Jets practice squad next week, per source
