Floyd had a a grand total of 4 catches of 40 yards or more with rivers tossing the rock around last season. Floyd is like a poor mans keyshawn Johnson, only completely lacking the redzone threat.

To be fair, Floyd is really the number three option behind Jackson and Gates.

All we know is we need someone to fill that void left by Braylon, wherever it be Floyd, Plax or Moss (throws up)

    We need someone ...

We could also be fair and assume there were a lot more passes to be had in san Diego last year than there will be with the jets this year even with Sanchez taking more responsibility. How many more? No idea, but it's probably a lot.

You can make a case that Holmes would be the #3 option in that offense too.

Edit: I am not enamored with Floyd was just saying that those 2 are freakish athletes.

I know it's been said 20 times already in this thread but with guys like Santonio and Cotch the one thing we lack is a tall, strong receiver who can catch the deep ball. Im all for Floyd filling that role.

Sounds like a bona fide Matthew Hatchette. Right down to the peewee football stats and excuses for not being targeted. Please leave this Bradway style 'hidden gem' buried for some other sucker to discover.

Please. Hatchette never had a 250 yard season let alone the back to back 700's Floyd is coming off of.

Floyd is no Hatchette, he has ability.

4 40+ yarders isn't too shabby, especially considering he missed like 5 or 6 games last season. I've seen him play a few times (mostly because he was on my fantasy team), and he is definitely a deep threat. If they didn't always throw Gates the ball down in the red zone, he'd be targeted a lot more there too. He certainly has the ability and athleticism for it.

Holmes, Cotchery, Keller, Floyd, with LT/Mcknight/Greene sounds awesome to me. I don't know about you guys. That seems like a very balanced and dangerous group of targets for Sanchez to play with.

As long as we stay far far away from Moss, Burress, TO etc etc...

I will say, as much as I like Floyd's size and youth, he really isn't that great. I wish he would have done more to seize the number one role in VJax's offense with Rivers throwing to him in a prolific offense. I don't want to overpay for him though. Or James Jones.

    Hopefully, Braylon's demands go down.

If it came down to Randy Moss on a cheap short-term deal or Floyd on a long-term deal, I might prefer Moss.

  18. Floyd's not that young. He will be 30 by the season opener.

Good point. I figured he was younger than that since he hadn't done anything for a while.

Yeah, the more I think about it, I really don't want Floyd.

  20. I don't mind him, but I'd prefer Braylon or Jones to him. I'd take him over Moss/To/Plax, though.
