Everyone called Brooklyn winning it before hand, but now everyone says of course NOH won.

The lottery is not as simple as I thought it was. It isn't just 1,2,3 etc on the ping pong balls. It actually draws 4 numbers and whichever team has that number wins. 1001 ping pong balls.

yep, that's how they have teams with such minute chances. They give teams different amounts of numbers. Charlotte of course had the most.

The Nets have re-signed Gerald Wallace to a 4year/40million dollar contract.

Next up, Joe Johnson or OJ Mayo. I say go for Mayo. Use trade assets for Dwight. Plus Johnson's contract is a joke.

The Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks have agreed to terms on a deal that will bring Joe Johnson to New York, sources told ESPN.com.

The deal is contingent on Deron Williams agreeing to stay with the Nets.

The Hawks, according to sources, would get Anthony Morrow, Jordan Farmar, Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, DeShawn Stevenson (via sign-and-trade) and the Rockets' 2013 lottery protected first round pick.

Atlanta's getting a big time bailout of an overrated player on a horrible contract (paid more than Lebron)...

Brooks / Green not going in the trade.

Essentially means they lose Green to FA

But Nets a pulling a nice squad together

Still they are done with the Dwight sweepstakes

I read earlier it means that they can try to keep Green.

If this keeps Deron, it had to be done. That contract though, yikes.

Chris_Broussard: Nets, of course, would've preferred to get Dwight, but Magic refused to engage in trade talks. Source: 'They didn't want to dance with us.'

Chris_Broussard: Source on Nets moving on from possibility of getting Dwight: "Dwight blew it in March'' when he waived opt-out clause.

The local guys here in Vegas are saying they are going to get Howard still, one guy is from Jersey and is a Nets fan. They're usually pretty good and don't jump to conclusions. I guess we'll wait and see

The last time somebody on TGG claimed to have insider knowledge from LV it was that Jose Reyes would sign with the Giants. I will go with common sense over Las Vegas people. If the Nets get Deron Williams and Joe Johnson, then they will not get Howard.

Johnson is a good player but is getting paid like he is a great player. He also is a Southerner, is quiet and does not have great enthusiasm. I thought he would have been a bad fit in NY. I mentioned it during the summer 2010 LeBronathon. Johnson can help take the Nets to the playoffs, but like Kevin McReynolds and Carlos Beltran, I don't think he will endear himself to New York fans.

Dwight is still possible at the deadline for Lopez Brooks and w/e...similar to the Melo situation

I'm OK with this deal because it should make the Nets competitive. I think JJ is a great fit. That contract is an abortion but w/e

Nobody was saying anything about insider knowledge, just their opinions but they're usually not the type to get ahead of themselves.

Not a fan of this, now they have two overpaid guys already with their prime in the rearview. Not to mention johnsons contract........ridiculous

Billy King might be ready for the old yeller treatment.

Unless they have something up their sleeves.

^There is nothing up their sleeves...This is it...

They need "stars" so people in NYC give a damn about the team...

It seems your goal is to just make the playoffs and that's will be considered a success...

I wish teams could re-work contracts, like in the NFL. They should really look to institute that

But that would take all the power away from the "superstars" and that's exactly what the players will never agree to.

It's not a good move from the Nets perspective but they had to get something done to keep Williams around. I don't know how this does it unless the Nets are going to send Johnson and Lopez to the Magic for Howard which isn't going to happen.

The NBA got so many concessions from the players...I think that would have caused no NBA season last year...

You never know, this duo could end up having perfect chemistry like the Mavericks 2 years ago.

I dont like the decision, but honestly this is Dwights fault. The dumbass should have NEVER signed the 1 year option with the Magic, he could have been a free agent right now and signing his contract with the Nets.
