Jets | Pennington may be out Wed, 6 Aug 2008 15:58:40 -0700 Mike Cannizzaro, of the New York Post, reports it is unlikely that New York Jets QB Chad Pennington would remain with the team if the Jets acquire Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre. You get paid for this?
the real question is......where can he film his next wrangler commercial, and how will his wrangler peons feel about havin a real life city boy as their spokesmen
The Sticking point While the Jets offered the Conditional/4th and the Bucs a 3rd the Packers want it to be a conditional to a 1st rd pick. Wow, talk about givin it up. But a conditional is better than just givin it up.
He could live in Kerhonkson. Plenty of fishing and once when I was there I hunted a quazi-human of some sort. Shot it in a bar, put it on my hood, tagged it and got up the thruway no problem.
I'd be willing to bet Hutchinson was very liberal in adding fluff to that "report". I highly doubt Favre thought the meadowlands was in Manhattan. He's played there enough times.
He makes like $10 mil per year. He could buy the surrounding properties and turn them into empty fields if it makes him feel better. I'm sure we can get a bunch of us out there to help him clear these properties if need be!
"Jets are offering a solid third-round draft choice that could rise to a first-round draft choice depending on the team's performance and how well Favre plays." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...s/preview/2008/08/06/favre.tracker/index.html Sounds good to me, what's the hold up? "the Bucs positively would not make an offer that lofty. The Packers have suggested a couple of different scenarios involving draft choices with Tampa Bay but I hear that the Packers are not close to doing anything tonight." He should go where he is wanted and to the team showing him the love... He will be more appreciated in the Big Apple.
^ Honestly – he comes to the Jets and instantly improves the team over the two high school (JV) quarterbacks we have on the roster. I don’t know that he improves the Bucs with Greise and the homo already there.
Peter King, in my experience, is very level-headed and reliable. All signs are pointing to the Jets getting Favre. Sure, it's 16 seasons after when we should have gotten him, but wtf! Better late than never. This season is gonna be so much more fun now. I don't think I could have stomached another vomit-inducing Penny/Clemmy year.
Namath | Favre is the Anti-Christ in disguise Wed, 6 Aug 6:06 I ain't dead yet and you ain't goin' to win no SB without me, so f*** that red neck hillbilly from Missisisiissippi, damn sh*t gotta sign some more mini's, goddamn trailers keep pulling up and I gotta sign 'em, Woody's gotta sell the BSL's...
If they give up a first-round pick for a 39-year old QB the Jets will supplant the Clippers as the worst organization in all of sports.
Yes, a 1st is Too much but Hey, If the condition is that we win the SuperBowl then I have no problem with it...
I would have to think a conditional draft pick that could rise to a first round pick would only rise to a first round pick if we were to win the AFC Championship or something along those lines. No way Tangini does it other wise.
Yes, if the condition is that the Jets are restored to respectability and we get a lot of better players from it and wins, wtf is the problem? People around here act like 1st round picks ALWAYS pan out. NEWSFLASH!!! They don't. Please review the last 30 Jets 1 round draft picks and look at the long, sad list of busts on that list. Thanks.
Saw on the crawl on ESPN that the Bucs offered a 3rd rounder, and the Pack wants another player as well.
Espn just said that the bucs really hold all the leverage now. If they anty up and give a conditional pick and a player then Favre will be a buc. They also stressed that Favre and his family still have the bucs as their first choice. Basically if the bucs make the offer we are f*cked. I cant take this anymore!!!!!
