By the end of the season? you mean right when he retires for the 4th time he will have the Jets playbook down? Sweet=)
I cannot believe we are still involved in this. I really hope this FO knows what they are doing here. This is a HUGE risk and it better work out.
man this whole thing gets crazier and crazier. thankfully my boss is a huge jets fan so its totally cool to waste the entire day monitoring this. the screen that usually has cnbc on is now on espn until this gets resolved.
No one has been "breaking news" with Farve. Be it Mort, or King or anyone else, they all think they are breaking news, trying to be first, and kissing Farve's ass so they can get a nugget. Again, our CS and MGT has been tight lipped about everything over 3 years. They are gonna let that slip? I just don't buy it.
The talking heads are just that. There for your entertainment and little else. Do you think the Jets would not tailor things to play to Favre's strengths? Hell, we have plays in there for Brad fucking Smith. I think they could work some things out for him.
If the Jets are offereing a better deal -- and its up to GB -- and TB is in GB's conference and they play TB this year -- why would they trade him to TB?
Are the Jets and Pennington just friends now or can they still sleep together if this romance goes wrong?
You missed WB's point. Our offense is so complex BECAUSE we can't get the ball down the field consistently. None of the blocking schemes or running plays change... Brett could learn just 10 pass plays/formations and do better than what we have now knowing the entire playbook.
Because Brett could refuse to play here... They just want the distraction over... I hope the FO is taking notice this Favre is about Favre before selling the farm to try to get him here...
This is a very good argument. The only fear is if the Jets make the trade and Brett refeuses to report to us.
I see. Then we shouldn't believe anything, on any site we see, read, hear about etc, cause it is all just for entertainment? Ok. Of course they would. My only point, which is getting lost in the mix, is that do you really think this guy is some sort of savior, or do you think it might take him a few weeks to get the playbook down, to get timing down, to get in the flow... is it week 8 that he has the offense? Are we 2-6 by that point, and another season is lost? I sure would like to get out to a fast start for a change. Do you think trading for him today allows us to do that? Or you cannot even entertain the notion that the all mighty brett farve, at 39, might take a few games to gel and pick up the friggan offense.
When's the last time Mangini mentioned Pennington at one of his press conferences. Silence speaks volumes in my book.
