any guesses on when Braylon actually signs a deal? I'm starting to think he might not sign until the first major WR injury in TC... waiting for a chance to jack up his ability to get paid. really hoping he ends up returning on a 1-2 year deal for like 5 million. It would definitely make our lives easier as an offense for the year...
I'll sign. Braylon is a guy who I think embodies the PLAY LIKE A JET philosophy that Rex has cultivated. He plays hard all game and he has been nothing but professional. Not bringing him back and bringing in a guy like Randy Moss who's a known quitter and slouch would be a mistake.
Here's a perfect object lesson of actions having consequences. After Braylon got a break in the DUI case, he got in trouble again over driving even after the stern talking to I'm sure he received from Woody on down to Rex. Between that and the Cleveland issue, I think the FO was just done with Braylon as its always 10mins to midnight with this guy. I don't think money was the issue here at all. All Braylon had to do was stay out of trouble (perhaps hire a f'n driver) and he would have been good to go here.
He didn't handle the DWI thing particularly well. I think when he was asked if he let his teammates down he basically something to the tune of 'no not really this is my issue'. I may be misremembering (lol roger clemens) it but I recall him making some sketchy comments immediately following. Of course I still want him on the field but I guess I can understand Rex and Co. being through with this guy. But he did so many great things on the field for us in 2010 so it's a bit of a headscratcher if he really was willing to offer a discount.
Soo is this all but done now that plax in the fold? Or is it possible we make an offer after we get cro?
Close this Thread.....Plax is the new #17 So long Braylon.....thanks for the 1 1/2 years of memories!!!!!!
Burress signed here with #17 in his contract and will obviously wear #17. Jets just basically telling Braylon again that he isn't wanted.
Rumor has it braylon is talking to AZ oh boy... him with larry? kolb is gonna be like a kid in a candy store lol
I would, too, but I wasn't around him every day. I trust the front office and coaching staff. They know what they're doing, and they were around him every day.
