The key will be limiting mistakes and containing Bernard

We have to find a mismatch on O and isolate it by any means

Well, call me crazy but I think we have a decent shot at this game. No doubt we are facing a damned good opponent both defensively and offensively but I think we have the type of personnel that can provide a decent match up.

IMHO keys to the game are no different than in the past.

    1) Defensively we need to stop the run on early downs and make Dalton's passing game predictable. Pressure Dalton and get him off his rhythm. Unlike the fiasco game against Ben and the Steelers Dalton does not get more dangerous when you flush him out of the pocket.

    2) I know I will get flamed for saying this, but playing M2M on this game could be deadly. Get some safety help especially against Green.

    3) Offensively, well beyond the obvious of no turn overs, I think we need to roll Geno out more, use his legs to open up the strong D of the Bengals, and give them a larger dose of wild cat mixed with screens and short passes. The ground and pound Ivory style might not be that effective on this game.

    4) Field position....Cribbs knows the Bengals well and he can be a BIG weapon for us in this game.

I feel this game might be closer than people think and might end up down to the wire with a field goal. In which case in Folk we trust from 50 yards and below

    Wow, this honestly surprised me.

    Numbers don't lie.

    I don't want a let-down.

Our win-loss record so far is W-L-W-L-W-L-W. We seem to feed off the losses and get up for the next game because of the loss. And then maybe we let down a little after a huge win like we just had. This is normal to some extent.

The sign of a really together team is consistency. Not getting yourself all over-confident when you beat a team like NE. I don't know if we're there yet, so this game is huge in that regard. We need a W here to break the W-L-W-L-W-L-W chain.

    Just sayin'...

I like this matchup a lot and think we can win 24-17. They lost their best DB and Andy has a tendency to hold on to the ball for too long, I can see us getting a few turnovers and capitalizing. My only concern is their young d line is almost the same as ours, they get plenty of penetration and are tall enough to bat down passes.

Gameplan on offense should be quick passes and runs to start the game and slow down their pass rush and then take a few PA shots with Hill. Defense should blitz a lot and force Andy to make quick decisions and maybe we can capitalize on some poor throws.

Numbers don't lie but they are cherry picked by liars.

The Jets have played one team with a winning record The Pats. The Bengals have played 4 teams with a winning record. None of the numbers at this point means anything.

If the D-Line of the Bengals can manage to rattle Geno- it's going to be a big-time loss. If he can maintain his composure, I think we will have a chance.

The just lost Leon Hall who is a huge loss for their D. Just like Talib was for NE.

They almost lost to the Bills. Andy Dalton is not a very good QB. I think if our offense can play like they on sunday we can win. Dont turn the ball over is always our goal.

I treat this game like house money. Take some risks offensively, see where it gets us. Its a road game against a 1st place team that hasnt lost at home and has defeated 3 Super Bowl winning QBS.

If we can get a win it would be huge, if we lose it wouldnt be a back breaker.

Titans would have a winning record if the JEts didnt take out Locker. He was playing great and that team was rolling at the time.

I'm not commenting on how good the Bengals are vs. the Jets. Just pointing out that numbers are meaningless at this point. I fully expect the Jets to play well and have a great shot to win this game. The Bengals are a solid team but they aren't some great unbeatable dynasty team. This is the NFL we get better every week we will win our share of games against good not great football teams. The Bengals look pretty good. They aren't great by any means.

Oh yeah I agree. Numbers just get people through the week at this point. Once the game starts all numbers go out the window.

Bengals will most likely win the AFCN but any given sunday.

I'm not sure if well win but I don't think the match up is that bad. Dalton is solid but I don't see him dicing for us for big plays and I feel good with Cro on Green. There run game is average as is where the 2nd best run D in football. I think it will be a some what low scoring game. What i am worried about is Geno not making stupid decisions and throwing INT's. We don't turn it over multiple times, I like our chance.

We're not expected to even play it close in the next 2 games which makes it much more exciting and almost no disappointment factor, play aggressive and play to win

This game is actually huge, the chargers right now are in the 6 seed spot.

They are 4-3 same as us, and have the same conference record at 2-3. They have us on strength of victory.

We need AFC wins, and we needs against teams that actually win a few games.

We need the fucking bucs to win a few games, they are killing our strength of victory.

This team isn't going to run away with a lead for a wild card spot, there is a good chance tiebreakers are going to have an impact on our chances.

This bengals game is more important that people realize. That being said, I've feel Rex has Marvin lewis number, it's just seemed that way the since he's been here as Rex has been 3-0 vs marvin lewis, by a total of 87-24.

Well, the most obvious pattern in all the Jet losses is what?

    They came after wins.

It's almost as if the Jets get too confident after a win. I still have a hard time accepting they lost to Pitt on the same field they beat NE a week later. It is rather odd.

And it is a pattern. Let's see them break it, hopefully.
