Sam Darnold is not a franchise quarterback of any variety. He may have the potential to become one but that is yet to be seen. The value of the franchise has increased from about 635 million dollars to 3.2 million dollars during ownership by the Johnsons. It is the appreciation of the value of an NFL franchise rather than annual income that is most important financially. The assumption that a "love of income" takes precedence over improving the team, while a popular screed, has not been supported by facts.
I'd be impressed to find out they're actually thinking at all instead of running the team on their instincts..
In my eyes Gase has lost the team and for that reason alone he needs to go. Bell is deciding when he gets an mri, if hes going to play etc. I don't recall this kind of communication from a player to the press without any coach input. The botched snap for safety last week and winters reaction could only happen on a rudderless team. The guys have no respect for him--IMO
Fans who were around in the 1970s paid for a banner to be flown over Giant Stadium which said "if Joe Walton brain was in a bird that bird would fly backwards" As I was at the game & do not if TV ever aired that or the beat reporters ever published it in the newspapers. These days due to 9/11 U can no longer fly a banner around the stadium like was done back then
Joe Walton was never with the Jets in the 1970's. Walton came to the Jets as OC in '81 and wasn't HC until 1983. Always wondered what it would be like combining the Jets live with lysergic acid diethylamide. ...years later...still running with this yarn? : 17a New Stadium Tour - PSL's, NEW STADIUM STUFF GO HERE
Yes thanks I corrected it but the FACT is that banner did fly over Giant Stadium in fact he made 2 passes
