ESPN is incompetent. It still says Burress vs. Oswalt on ESPN and it was announced that Albers would be pitching for Baltimore hours ago.
Shawn Chacon is an absolute fool. WTF was he thinking? Kiss your "career" good-bye dumbass. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3461058
yeah, he's done. Even according to his version of it, he was totally out of line. What a moron. You don't assault the GM. nice one, dierking
Matt Garza threw 6 no hit innings against the Marlins today. Hanley Ramirez broke it in the bottom of the 7th with a solo shot. Rays up 6-1 in 9th. 1 hit allowed in 8 innings for Garza.
To be honest, I think assaulting anyone because you (supposedly) don't like that they're (supposedly) yelling at you is totally out of line. I think that there are laws against it, in fact.
yes, naturally. Assault and battery. You're cranky. Matt Garza was incredible. First complete game of his career. 1 hit allowed. Was throwing 96 mph after 100 pitches. Marlins 9th Matt Garza pitching: Paul Hoover: Strike looking, Strike swinging, Hoover struck out swinging Wes Helms hit for Doug Waechter. Wes Helms: Strike looking, Strike looking, Ball, Ball, Foul, Helms struck out swinging. Hanley Ramirez: Foul, Strike swinging, Ball, Ramirez grounded out to shortstop.
You're right, and I apologize. I think you understand why that is - whack-a-mole gets tiring after a while.
what, whack-a-junc? I think even Cakes got tired of it after a while. I'm glad that you acknowledge it. I recommend that you concede to junc that he is, in fact, wrong, and walk away.
Pretty much any argument with junc is fruitless but ones like this where he can endlessly debate what "much worse" actually is and claim victory because you proved he was only "slightly worse" is literally never going to end on his end. Junc thrives on semantics and it's easy to get sucked and respond for 5 pages to him when the matter was settled in the first couple posts.
Albert Pujols returned from his injury today. 4/4 with an intentional walk, but the Cards lost to the Tigers in 10 innings.
Not great for us Cubs fans to see Albert back already but we still have that 4.5 game lead and it wont be too long until we get Soriano and Zambrano back.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/rumors/...ld-vouch-for-Chacon-s-character?urn=mlb,90679 Derek Jeter said he would vouch for Shawn Chacon's character if the New York Yankees considered bringing back Chacon after his release by the Houston Astros on Thursday. The move came a day after Chacon admitted to The Houston Chronicle that he had grabbed General Manager Ed Wade by the neck and thrown him to the ground in an argument. "Chac's a friend of mine," Jeter said. "I see Chac in the off-season. I wouldn't have a problem with him. I think people need to find out all the details. Yeah, it doesn't look good, doesn't sound good, but I don't know what happened. I can't picture it happening, knowing him like I know him." A friend of Jeter's is no friend of mine. Anyway, choking Wade wasn't all. Chacon also refused to do a bullpen session. Of course, the player's union is fighting for a #*^$. They're trying to force the Astros to pay the rest of his contract. Ummm, no? Insubordination?
Oakland DHs are 2/30 in interleague play. The pitchers are batting .167, OTOH. Also, Carlos Gonzalez is their #5 hitter, and he isn't good at all. 2 homers on the season (in almost 100 ABs), .253 hitter. Three at bats against Lincecum and three strikeouts
wow. Double and infield single to lead off 8th for Oakland (Lincecum came out after 7, so they finally got to face someone else), but then the cleanup hitter, Crosby, was asked to bunt, and couldn't do it. Popped it up. 1 out. Gonzalez lines out to right. Brown strikes out. Weak.
Good lord! Jered Weaver with a no hitter through 6, but down 1-0 and they hit for him! That's unbelievable, and why NL baseball sucks.
