Cueto got laughably destroyed in the first there. wow. 7 earned runs off 50 pitches or so and finally got pulled
worked for me. I had Phillies leading after 5. 16-1 headed to the 8th Game went over the 8.5 total in the first inning.
18-1 in the 8th with the middle of the order up and the bases loaded. Utley and Howard have already been pulled, though. I think this might be the most lopsided win of the season.
Andruw Jones batted cleanup tonight for Texas in Anaheim. He hit home runs in each of his first three plate appearances One of the most predictable things of the 2009 season was Jones remembering how to hit after being released by the Dodgers. It's LA's own fault. You never give a guy like Andruw Jones big money. Ever.
Washington/Houston trying to make up a suspended game which was in the 10th before they play their scheduled game tonight, but wouldn't you know it, the game is now delayed in the 11th.
Jonathan Sanchez of the San Francisco Giants fires the first no-hitter of 2009, and the first Giants no hitter since 1976! That piece of crap Juan Uribe cost him the perfect game with an 8th inning error. He better buy that man a rolex or something. Giants beat the Padres 8-0. Concidering all the good pitchers to come out of SF, it's surprising this was the first no-no in over 30 years. But the Giants lack of success in the Bay makes it all the more believeable.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/wires/07/11/2010.ap.bbn.giants.cain.injured.0275/ San Francisco Giants All-Star right-hander Matt Cain left Saturday's game against San Diego after getting hit by a liner in his pitching arm during the second inning. Cain, who entered the game tied for the second-most wins in the National League, was hit just above his right elbow by San Diego pitcher Tim Stauffer's line drive with two outs. The ball ricocheted off Cain toward the third-base dugout as the Giants pitcher grimaced in pain while walking around on the field. Cain then circled back behind the pitcher's mound where he was met by trainer Dave Groeschner, manager Bruce Bochy and pitching coach Dave Righetti. After a brief conversation, Cain attempted to throw a warmup pitch, but the ball sailed over the head of catcher Eli Whiteside and hit the backstop.
