    watching Seattle-Oakland.

Serious throwback night here at Safeco.

Seattle wearing the old Rainiers jerseys and Oakland also wearing old jerseys.

    Endy Chavez batting now.

Gehrig's consecutive games streak was broken on this date.

    Crosby steals second.

Line drive to right, Crosby runs through stop sign, Ichiro's throw beats him but Johnson can't handle the hop. To add insult to injury, Crosby blows up Johnson anyway and the runner takes second.

    3-2 Oakland.

Sunday night baseball coming up. White Sox at Rangers.

Jermaine Dye got hit in the hand yesterday and he'll miss the game.

    Danks (ex-Ranger) vs. Matt Harrison

Mariners-A's is the only game still going. Tied in the 11th.

Game just underway. Bottom of 1st.

Oakland broke through with 3 in the 13th and they'll get this one.

Kinsler hits his 8th career leadoff homer.

Going to the bottom of the 15th. Hannahan came in as a defensive replacement in the 9th and he just had his 4th plate appearance.

Seattle wins when Davis misplays a shallow fly ball by Lopez.

Had he played that correctly, it's either one out with bases loaded or two outs with two men on.

Carl Crawford had six steals today. First time in thirteen years that that has happened.

Toronto matched its best ever start to a season at 18-9. The other time they did that? 1992, when they went on to win the World Series.

Dodgers have their best ever home start after winning their 10th home game of the season. They've yet to lose one.

The Marlins have lost 10 of 13 after winning 11 of their first 12. That leaves them at 14-11, still first in the NL East.

Texas just had the bases loaded with no one out and failed to score a run.

Teagarden struck out and then Ian Kinsler hit a check swing trickler back to the mound.

    1-2-3 double play.

5-1 Texas going to the 9th.

There are two leagues. It's also time for a new thread devoted to the 2009 season.

I would give my left nut to have Greinke on the Mets. A dude can live a perfectly normal life with just one ball. He's that good.

Worst part of it was that he was trying to run over home plate.

Cardinals have a short bench because of Ankiel, so Wainwright bats for himself in the bottom of the 6th with 1st and 2nd and one out. Shows bunt on the first pitch, but pulls back and takes a ball. Shows bunt again on the second pitch, but pulls back and... solid single to left.

That chases Wife Beater, who is pulled for a lefty to face Schumaker.

    7-4 Phillies. Bases loaded.

edit: Khalil Greene is pinch hitting for Schumaker against Eyre.

A 3-1 win last night over the Diamondbacks left the Dodgers with a 20-8 mark on the season (best in the majors), gave LA a six-game winning streak, and widened their gap atop the division to 5.5 games over the Giants. It also was the Dodgers' 12th consecutive home win to start the 2009 season, tying the 1911 Detroit Tigers for best in the 'modern day history' of the game.

They go for the record tonight.

    Watching San Diego-Arizona.

Bottom of the 7th I saw Scott Schoeneweis walk the bases loaded and now I'm watching Heath Bell. Back to back ex-Mets.
