Braves in the process of blowing a 10-3 lead over the Phils in the bottom of the 7th - now 10-7, bases loaded, 1 out.
I'm hoping the big unit can get a solid 6 or 7 innings every night. Rowand yesterday was a monster lets hope he can get a nice 110-115RBI season. If so that'll make us more competitive O
Phils win it 12-11. Four Braves RPs after the starter Vasquez: 1 IP, 63 pitches, 5 hits, 6 walks, 0 Ks, 9 earned runs.
Pujols opening day: 3/4 with a walk 4/7: 2/3, 3 runs, 2 walks, a homer, 2 RBI today: 2/4 with a 3 run homer and a grand slam. 2 homers and 7 RBI
is it safe for a Blue Jays fan to enter the Baseball forum?....i don't want my virgin rosebud to be raped by all you Yanks/Mets cult members. BTW...we're in first
first 7 in Detroit: Rangers win 4-0. Then the Texas bullpen imploded and gives up 6 in the 8th to lose. There's bad pitching and then there's Texas.
Congratulations to the Nationals! They lost once again to Atlanta today, and Cleveland beat Toronto. Washington is now the only winless team in the majors, at 0-6.
Anyone else think the Beckett suspension is a little ridiculous. It's the first inning, he doesn't even hit the guy and the Angels are the ones that emptied the benches. He didn't even get thrown out of the game and now MLB is going to suspend him?
The biggest thing to me is that he wasn't even ejected. I can see a fine maybe, but that suspension is over the top.
boggles the mind that hendrickson is still on a major league roster. I'd rather have a B prospect. He's garbage with nothing to offer and no prospect for improvement. Rangers score 19 in 8 innings in rout of Baltimore reminiscent of this game. I still remember that game. I was at Coors Field before that night's Rockies game and when the run total listed on the stadium scoreboard went into the 20s, I figured it must be a mistake.
Orlando Hudson hit for the cycle in 8th game as a Dodger. Hudson hits for the cycle: Orlando Hudson of the Los Angeles Dodgers has hit for the cycle, completing the feat with a triple in the sixth inning against the San Francisco Giants. Hudson singled in the first, homered in the third and doubled in the fourth - all off Giants starter Randy Johnson - before his leadoff triple in Monday's home opener. Hudson slid into third base ahead of the throw from right fielder Randy Winn, the umpire signaled safe, and Hudson pointed to the sky. He became the first Los Angeles player since Wes Parker on May 7, 1970, to hit for the cycle, and the first to do so at Dodger Stadium. Parker's feat came at New York's old Shea Stadium. Hudson is the ninth player in franchise history to complete the cycle. He finished 4-for-5 with two RBI.
Chien-Ming Wang has the highest ERA for pitchers who have thrown more than 3 innings, with a 34.5 ERA through three starts. He also has allowed 8 more earned runs than any other pitcher in baseball.
Beckett's suspension dropped to 5 games, making it absolutely pointless as he doesn't miss a start, but allowing the league to avoid saying it was wrong to suspend him in the first place
Patriots Day matchup features Masterson vs. Hendrickson. Should be some awful baseball, starting at around 11:05 EDT.
The starters actually ended up pitching well, especially Masterson, Radahames Liz on the other hand has to be one of the worst pitchers in the majors
When ARod or a Yankee is caught doing steroids every media outlet will be talking about it for weeks. But if it's somebody else on another team nobody cares.... welcome, Troy Glaus. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=bryant_howard&id=4081214
