Damn Cardinals couldn't save a game in the ninth if they were playing a bunch of blind 3rd graders. Almost as disappointing as the Jets.
The Twins are sporting jerseys with no names on the back. This is slated to be their final season in the Metrodome. Thank goodness.
Seattle Mariners' Ken Griffey Jr. connects for a solo home run off Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano during the fifth inning of an MLB baseball game in Minneapolis, Monday, April 6, 2009. He tied a major league record for most Opening Day HRs. #612 of his career. The Kids still got it  .
Bob Melvin is off to a fast start for worst manager of the year. Benches Justin Upton on opening day in favor of Eric Byrnes because Upton had a bad spring.
It wasn't because of spring, it was because Upton is 1-9 against Cook in his career and Byrnes is 7-23.
Dunn works a long at bat and finally comes away with a bases loaded walk. 6-4 Marlins. Bases loaded, 1 out, with Willingham batting.
Go Jays! dont' know how many times I'll be able to say that during the season....this will probably be the last. Might as well take advantage...before we take our rightful place in the basement of the AL East. Although...the Jays bats look lively early on....Snider and Lind are swinging the bat with authority.
A win is a win. It was nice to see the boys score 10 runs. I was surprised they managed to score that many in a game, I really didn't think they had it in them to do that this season, a (supposedly) horrendous offense. I'm not a fan of Ishikawa starting at first, but he has a good bat. Aaron Rowand FINALLY doing something offensive, maybe start to earn his stupid contract. But Linc has to be happy about his team. He didn't need to throw a 8 inning gem again to get the W. I'm not sure he's had that since he became pro. I'm really looking forward to RJ pitching, I hope I get a few games on TV up here in Canada.
BJs will probly, this year. But unless they make some major changes(i.e. SIGNING A FREE AGENT), they're going to be in the gutter for a long time. I can't imagine the BJs keeping Halladay after this offseason, or next trade deadline. He is of course leaving, and making a shade under $16 million next season. The most obvious choice to trade him for MLB ready prospects and get a young nucleus of players to infuse them.
