yeah. double down right field line to start the 8th.

cardinals just had to use Braden Looper to pinch hit because they're carrying 13 pitchers and La Russa used a bunch of players in the 9th.

    down 6-3 in the 10th.

    they lost

Tigers scored 19 and could've had 20, but they had mercy and didn't send the runner.

Pena, a SS, came in to pitch for KC, the first KC position player to pitch in 10 years.

Jimmy Gobble allowed 10 runs in 1 inning, the most runs allowed by a reliever in one inning in 60 years!

Rick VandenHurk pulled after 5 no hit innings against Atlanta. The reliever gave up a hit to the first man he faced in the 6th, Chipper Jones.

The Astros and Diamondbacks made trades today. The players involved aren't even worth mentioning.

    big day for upsets today.

    Cubs were -270 and lost.

Tigers were -170 and lost 7-6 to the ChiSox.

Athletics were -185 and lost 9-4. I had them in beat the streak team edition because they had Duchscherer going against Matt Harrison.

Phillies were -290 (!!!!) and barely beat the Braves, 10-9. Hamels gave up 9 runs in the 4th.

Red Sox were favored (not by much, though) and lost

Indians were very slight favorites and got blown out by the Twins.

Reds were favored and lost to the Rockies.

    Mets were -132.

Lincecum just set a new career high by striking out his 13th D-Back. He continues to lead MLB with 156 Ks on the season.

He struck out the side in the 4th and 7th innings and didn't walk a single batter.

Casey Blake ejected for yelling "horse#&^%$!" at the ump after retreating to the dugout. Torre came out to argue, and got ejected for saying "bull#^$%!" Fun night.

Wilson struck out Jones with 4 straight fastballs:

    100, 101, 100, 98.

    Jones just couldn't catch up.

Last night was a reason I did not want to trade for Sabathia. He's been lights out in Milwaukee then he pitches in a big game and he struggles. he needs to prove himself down the stretch in big games or else I hope we don't sign him this offseason.
