In an article in NY Post on Marrone and Jets players on the team when he was our O-line coach. They interviewed 3 guys: Curtis Martin, Kevin Mawae and Brandon Moore and they all liked him a lot. Said he is a good people person and a hard working coach. And recommend him as new Jets HC. That's good enough for me.

Read the quotes from his most current players since he's had two stints as HC

Those 2 have been huge Marrone supporters combine those guys with his brilliant agents and it's like there trying to force the jets to hire the "greatest coach" ever to hit the coaching market.

Of course they would be negative of him after he literally abandoned the team. What did you expect them to say?

I'm not saying we should hire this guy, but quotes of Bills players since his departure are worthless, IMO

The media, especially sports media is just flooded with Syracuse guys.. Especially in NY, it's like a damn pipe line here.. But really wherever, including nationally.

Costas,Tirico,Schein, McDonough, marv Albert, Ian Eagle, Gary Apple, carton of Boomer and Carton, cimini, mehta, Gary Myers of NYDN... All Syracuse alumni that I know off the top of my head. There is plenty more though

Marrone is viewed favorably by Syracuse in general so it DOES help him in the press clippings that he's a Syracuse guy.. Mehta not included haha.. It's a legitimate concern that the perception of him is improved by the media in his corner.

Mehta is being extremely unprofessional throughout this whole process by the way. He should be ashamed of himself

That was a recent article and not from 10 years ago. I saw a few angry comments from Bills players after he resigned. If they hated him wouldn't they be happy he left. And who are they to talk.

So they must have really appreciated what he did as head a coach in Syracuse? I don't get your point.

Have any of you EVER heard so many negative things about a potential Jets hire before? Honestly? Is there no red flag going up in your head?

You know...what I like to do is go to our parallel location to see what the fans say...Here's a quote from one of their fans on the Buffalo Bills version of The Gang Green:
Click HERE for the thread. These people can't WAIT to move on from the Doug Marrone chapter. Yes, it's the fans but not all of them can be wrong and if you read through a good number threads, as I've done, the tone is 95% the same. "Good Riddance" and they "can't wait" to play the Jets if he were to be hired.

Even if I weren't an astute football guy and can read and see the product he trots out on to the field. I'd be might worried about hiring this guy after reading all this.

You're going to ask them yourself? You act like I know why they are promoting him. Maybe they feel him doing well in the pros will help their program I don't know?

"We all know the kind of person Marrone is.

Let the Jets find out first hand what a slime ball this douche is.

National Media has no dignity, just like Marrone. "

you're the one who made the statement that they're only talking about him nicely because they're Syracuse grads. back up your statement.

The players there liked him in his tenure.. Only now when he left them are they bitching.

It's also very hypocritical of those bills players...they want to claim "it's a business", have no problem when other players leave for better contracts and seek opportunities in free agency themselves any chance they get- yet when a coach does the same he "abandoned" them.

All the bills players stuff right now is BS

If you're trying to get an accurate picture of how players feel about a coach, asking them right after he voluntarily quit the team won't give you a pretty picture regardless of how beloved the coach once was.

criticize his decision, but don't claim that the Bills players hated Marrone based on a few "SMH" tweets.

Is that false? No it's not. Facts are facts. They're the only ones promoting him.

If they hated him they would've quit on him..they would've mailed it in a certain week where they had every excuse in the world to take it easy after the snowstorm for example.. They would've not showed up the week after being eliminated.

They didn't do any of that. They were motivated until the end and listening to WGR in buffalo I always got the impression they liked playing for him
