This isn't a sexy move. We need a sexy move! Please. We need a coach with A COOL game plan. Not this Marrone guy.
Bills fans lol ,Most of them want Rex witch doesn't make a bit of sense to me being we got blown out by the Bills twice this year, then I looked at Maronnes offenses in Buffalo and they are nothing to write home about.I'm still intrigued by the unknown with guys like Bowles and Quinn .
well you would have to be pretty damn bad to be worse than Rex. What criteria are you using to determine he's not good in general?
It has nothing to do with the offer. It has everything to do with the fact that Ozzie is leaving the entire franchise for him. Why would someone leave with that?
After firing Idzik in two years. That offer would probably need to be a whole lot of GUARANTEED years at a real large $$$ -- which ain't happening with Woody. And then you probably will still get snubbed.
Common sense? Thanks for articulating. That's fucking awesome. Common sense. What a piece of shit answer. He improved the Bills from what he inherited over the last two years, did he not?
None of the available head coaching candidates will be viewed as a good hire. None. And people would be equally upset if we kept Rex. The media was saying "Why haven't you fired Rex Ryan!?" And then after he's fired, they immediately start saying "You moron, how could you fire Rex Ryan?!" If we pick a coordinator from a good team, people will whine "He has no head coaching experience! The coordinator was only good because he was on a good team!! Woody is being cheap!!" If they hire a coordinator from a bad team, people will whine and say "Why did you hire a bad coordinator!? His team was bad because he is bad! And you should feel bad!!" And if we hire a candidate with head coaching experience, people will whine and say "Rex had more success than this guy!! How could you fire Rex for someone who was a less successful head coach!?!" The reality is, we can't really predict how things will turn out. A lot of people were upset when Mangini was fired, because he'd been pretty successful and it looked like we were a real playoff team. Then we ditch him because the owner doesn't like him on a personal level, and replace him with a coordinator who was passed over for other HC jobs and "only had success because of his father's name and because he was coaching a stacked defense." We don't know if the new guy will be a disaster or if he'll be fantastic. As long as he's someone with reasonable sounding qualifications, we just have to go with it. Sure, if we hire that Cable guy or whatever, let's complain. But if it's Quinn or Marrone or whatever, that's a reasonable option just like Rex was a reasonable option in 2009, and in 2015 - and just like keeping Mangini was a reasonable option after 2008. There will be major question marks with whoever we hire, but I suggest we all chill out until we find concrete reasons to panic.
I am not a fan of bringing in a 72 year old man to be our GM. My 70 year old father in law lives with me and I tell you, at that age they can start losing their faculties real quick and in some odd ways.
Yea pretty much,If Tom Cable even walks through the building its gonna set the franchise back 8 years
His family lives in Baltimore. But for the right price he is probably available. You have to greatly overpay. He is currently making GM pay.
