I think Revis is an outstanding player, probably top 5 at his position, but if you're asking me to choose between Revis and Faneca (or any of the others on my list of potential #5's) I'm not sure I'd choose Revis. I'm taking into consideration Ryan's ability to create pressure on defense and commitment to the running game.
From Mack's original list, I'd definitely sub Mangold for Keller. We've seen what the O-line was with and without him. As for #5, Sanchez has the most upside, but he's not irreplaceable at this point. I'd probably say Brick, Rhodes, or even Thomas Jones. Look at Greene - Jones ability to be consistent and stay healthy have been huge. I love Washington, but until I see him with Westbrook-like touches I wouldn't go anywhere without our leading rusher.
I see this team in pure rebuild mode so my list is a little different. Sanchez-how he goes is how the franchise goes Revis-Single best player on the team and young Mangold-Anchors the Middle D'Brick-Protects Sanchez Blind side Harris-Likely leader of the D when it's finally built to dominate
What makes you say pure rebuild mode? Only half of the high level coaching staff was changed and a rook throwing it? Most of the players have returned from last year.
Totally but we beat the Titans, the Pats and the div champs. Not to mention gramps got hurt. We've only added to the really solid core was already had. The D is mostly still a 3-4, just with a more aggressive blitzing scheme. I think Sanchez may make it feel like a rebuilding year, but it's more of a retooling year.
scheme and injured QB. I call it a transitional year that is going to need 9 draft picks and hit Home Runs on 3 of them to keep this team in top shape. Tanny and crew can do that, 06 is a good example. Rhodes and Harris weren't being used properly. Rhodes went to Mangini twice and told him that he wanted to make more plays, Mangini responds by telling Rhodes he's having the best year of his career.... holy shit that's sounds retarded - but it actually happened.
Please tell me that didn't actually happen and you were just kidding? That is pretty retarded. Egotistical on Mangini's part thinking a player couldn't out-perform his game plan.
i'll find you some news links. it really is embarrassing. Here's two: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2009/08/11/2009-08-11_kerry_rhodes.html http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/08/ny_jets_kerry_rhodes_looking_f.html
THIS ABOVE ALL ELSE is the number one reason I was against drafting Sanchez in favor of drafting the heir apparent to Jenkins (or at least making a trade for). If Jenkins can't stay healthy, no matter who is on offense, the JETS suffer. Personally, I don't think Jenkins should play the next two preseason games more than a package or two. Give his backups the playing time.
Good lord, that's ridiculous. I liked Mangini because he cleaned up a loose end, but some of his policies and ideas were just absurd.
I've been snowboarding for over 10 years, if you get knocked out after a fall with a helmet (unless it's like a 30ft gap) I'm not sure I believe your other false fallacies of strength. And... 1. Jenkins 2. Revis 3. Pace 4. Mangold 5. Fanaca 5a. Rhodes
Ha sorry man I tried to write that as a joke, but it came off as really dickish. Where you were riding? I've been riding all over New England my whole life.
1. Kris Jenkins 2. Nick Mangold 3. Bart Scott (yes, flame away if you'd like but David Harris isn't doing anything with Brandon Renkart next to him) 4. Alan Faneca 5. Mark Sanchez
Which is why you could actually make this list Ferguson Mangold Faneca Moore Woody If two of those guys go down, its Katie Bar the Door with a rookie QB, no running game, no pass protection, and average receivers.
