Okay, so I took it differently than you meant it. No big deal. On the other hand, simply continuing a conversation should not be taken as an accusation either. It would be interesting if you answered my question though - why do you think so many here take posts that do not share the irrational exuberance in favor of waiting for results as negative?
It isn't but you asked me why I had called you a doomsday member, the very essence of being accused (both ways btw) lol It isn't and still isn't a big deal either btw As for your question, I'll give it a go. Depends on how you define neutral I guess, some of your posts though on the surface may well be neutral but they certainly drift to the negative side because they are always in reply to somebody that is positive, so then your posts take on a more negative slant as people see one post and then your reply and ying/yang them together as opposites. Also, and again it is well within your rights but people can't understand why you or others aren't excited at the prospect of us possibly turning a corner, we don't follow sports teams to be flat and realistic, you follow sport to get excited, to get the blood pumping, enjoyment (which for a long time, granted, is a moot point) So why wait until September and that first time TD pass from Wilson to A N Other to gain a little excitement, a real-world example of this would be telling your kids to calm down on Christmas Eve as it isn't Christmas Day for another 12 hours, don't be a party pooper
I'm not talking specifically of me, there's a new thread in the last two days where a number of people caution against unwarranted excitement. I remember a couple of years ago in a thread for predictions of Darnold's stats I was excoriated for predicting he would not play all sixteen games and his turnover rate would be higher than most predicted. A few guys here were all over me for such "negativity" - it was a prediction based on gut instinct and understanding of the NFL. When the results were in I was far closer to his actual results than anyone. That's called reality. Every time the Jets get new players, particularly quarterbacks, irrational exuberance flows from some members and for over fifty years it has been answered by disappointment. Why is there such an urgency to force the issue? If there are fans who cannot understand that, they obviously have not been paying attention. I didn't enter this discussion until some members started telling others that we all should be excited simply because the possibility exists that things will be different this time around. Sure, they can hope for a sea change in the fortunes of the team; they can even be excited about it but to insist that others share the same attitude, based not on reality but wishing and hoping, is ridiculous. Neutral is neutral, neither optimistic nor pessimistic, the definition is quite simple, why is that so hard to understand? Of course neutrality could be taken as negative if it is compared to pie in the sky irrational exuberance shown by some here but why draw that inference when there is no implication of same? That's a narrow minded view and a lack of reading comprehension. I haven't been excited by fantasy since I was ten years old, I'm not about to start now. Anyone considering that as a personal affront has way too much time on their hands.
Nah, I don't believe you. Take a stand! When we drafted Darnold I threw up. When we drafted Wilson I cheered. Have an opinion, please!! That's what we're here for. How can we have a conversation if you leave everyone else to fill in the blanks? Then you get annoyed when others put words in your mouth, well if you don't want that then throw something out there so we can talk about it. I 100% understand your reluctance about the Jets and not wanting to commit one way or the other until you see the product, but we're fans, & nothing we say here will change the performance on the field. It is what it is with this team. We both know that. It should not stop you from you giving your opinions about the players we just drafted or if you are optimistic or negative about the upcoming season. If nothing else, just to have a conversation about what you see as opposed to what I see can be very interesting. That is all.
I love the back and forth. Truth be told, no one on here is pessimistic. No one on here his even neutral. Because if you were any of these things, you wouldn't even be on here.
You need to just post in memes or something because you are not entertaining. Actually, one of the most boring posters I have ever come across. Nobody gives a sh*t about a neutral stance. Who are you, CNN? Neutral? What is that? Who cares? Pick a direction! Please!!! We don't care. Neutral is not a direction. If people on message boards had the same ratings as TV, you would have been cancelled after the pilot. Anything else, Mr. Bird? Is the seed tasty this month? Need your feathers preened? How about your beak, functioning properly? Nest ok? & please let your fellow angry pessimistic neutral birds know that this is a thread for optimism, you know, like the title says, we have a bright future. How can you not envision a Zach Wilson quick slant over the middle to Elijah Moore who takes it 70 yards to the house against the Dolphins in a wild shootout at MetLife Stadium? He and Waddle going back and forth are going to make for some great TV, or if you're there in person, a great atmosphere. Cheer up, Mr Bird.
Why post something if the only thing you do is make personal attacks? You realize that's against the terms of service, right?
I think there is a report button here. Use it. You are still the most boring poster in the history of message boards. Now add board snitch to that list. All you do is make personal attacks mostly hidden in a bunch of word salad. We ain't be stupid. We see. Optimism thread, where's your optimism?
I am not a fan of Ralebird (he will attest if he remembers who I am) but this shit is getting old. Let it go.
No. If he posts something I disagree with, I'm going to respond. It's really simple. That's how a message board works. It is not my fault he clams up when challenged on an opinion. He can challenge me too. We're here to talk Jets football, not about our feelings. So far, all I see is him getting into fights & personally attacking everyone when they respond to one of his posts. At least argue over the Jets! Maybe a Jets message board is not the place for him? Too rough in here. Maybe a nice yoga meditation room would be better.
You clearly have limited experience with him. Good luck, bro. Here to another 50 posts of watching flies fuck.
LOL He is the most boring poster in the history of message boards. I see the light. Thank you. I should file a complaint with site management asking to put a warning label on him. Do not feed the bird.
