Because he's an explosive personality. He will kill that locker room. And the fact that you guys gave up so much for him doesn't bode well when you need to replace the aging starters on the team

We as Jets fans have seen this script once already.

I think it's a no to Peters. All signs point to Fant being our starting LT

Brian Poole and Robby Anderson should be targets to re-sign today.

In terms of trading, I would like for them to make a run at Yannick if it doesn't cost a 1st rounder.

George Fant is what it is. I am glad we didn't overspend for anyone. We need to start somewhere with offensive line if we missed on Gsaglow and we did. It seems most OL will need to be addressed through the draft.

Doesn't Tannenbaum still work for the Dolphins? If so, that would explain their bizarre actions.

I’m going to compare the Fant signing to driving on one of those temporary lanes during a road construction or re-paving. He’s here while JD rebuilds the OL with permanent pieces. As of now I think it’s a given 2 OL are selected very high in the draft and maybe even a third in the lower rounds. The man said building the trenches was his priority......maybe the big money he saved not signing a guy like Conklin will go towards the in house FAs.

As far as Yannick I’d like that very much but I don’t see how it wouldn’t involve a first rounder.

I think it's probably no to Peters. I don't think we'd have signed Fant if the plan was to sign Peters.

I definitely hope that we sign Poole, and it's best if we can sign Robbie. I still wouldn't pay him $13-$15 million per season, however.

If Fowler has cleaned up his act and is willing to sign a reasonable deal, then yes, sign him, as long as we can sign another FA OL or two. If signing Fowler precludes our being able to sign another FA OL or two, then no.

I don't think so. I think JD envisions Fant as the guy at the LT position. He's looking to give him that opportunity based on that contract given and the expressed desire Fant has been putting out into the NFL world. His desire is to be the starting LT of a football team. It's a good thing to hear. It's a very amazing contract If he does pan out, and he has some good tape overall from what I've seen.

I think a lot of you should start getting used to the idea that this kid may just be our starting LT for the 2020 season.

I'm curious to see how this may or may not effect the draft now.

Also keep in mind there are opportunities post draft too. Yes, likely to be JAGs but JAGs can be stopgap guys too. Just hope we don't reach for the Osemele's of the world

Also hope that JD has an eye for talent and can find talent in mid rounds. I think we have been so traumatized by our drafting history that we think the only place to get players is the first round because so many of OUR picks second round and later have been busts (and many of our firsts have under performed their slot). Consider Fant. Guy was UDFA. COmpetetent and good teams find these guys all over. Thuney too.

Hearing Teddy to Carolina and Cam is requesting a trade.

And for those who wanted Beachum back, just think about him getting pummled vs good DE's last year. While a "piece" we know he really didn't have a future here. At least Fant is younger and MAY have a bit more upside. I also hope Edoga can find a home...maybe move to RG? I thought he wasn't god awful when he played RT last year considering the situation.

Draft is shaping up to be one of three options.
    1. One of the big 4 OT's at 11
    2. Jeudy at 11
    3. Trade back and go BPA..interior OL etc. and pick up another 2nd for more BPA's

JD does have a knack for finding UDFA according to some write ups I’ve seen....I hope what I’ve read is right.

Cooper is no longer available. Robby Anderson is the #1 WR on the market and is a must re-sign for Sam Darnold and our Jets offense.

Fant is basically Beachum’s replacement for 2020. I still think they’re drafting a LT. Not a bad signing considering the cost ....

I think that one of the big 4 OL's is a lock for the draft now.

That way Fant is given the opportunity to start at LT and if he fails the rookie slides over.

This may force us into a trade up.

If that's the case it's time for plan B - trade down!

He's average, which is an upgrade from what we have now.
