i don't know Talis, check out this link, look at the Mariners, they hit 315 as a team, Griffey. Martinez, Buhner, were all on fire, and Jack McDowell had a pretty lousy series at best. The Yanks were in position twice to win game 5 but couldn't close it out. I was so pissed driving back to Huntington beach from my sister's house in San Diego after the game because her husband is from out here and we were at each others throats for the whole game 5, and when the yanks fell short, he of course started lettingme have it, and it had been a while since my yanks made the playoffs. i'd have kicked my sister's husbands head in if he wasn't twice the size of me
i did give him a really cheap shot with a quick kick to his shin, and i sprinted out the door into my truck, he couldn't catch me cuz i actually gave him a pretty good shot with the kick and got away. that was a long and painful drive home.

They was no time in this year's playoffs to do the 2-2-1 with the wild card game.

They made the change with the extra wild card and one game playoff too late after all the schedules were made...

So 2-3 is for this year only and next year's schedules will allow for the traditional 2-2-1.

I like Sabathia's chances no matter where we start but I do prefer Baltimore and I want no part of Detroit in round 2.

i just had a tiny feeling going on since the yanks finally had their whole lineup back. playing the sox didn't hurt either, and the Yanks did hit 4 in the series opener on monday. Man do I hope they stay hot. It seems to me when Cano and Swisher hit, the Yanks win. When those two don't , they lose, no matter what the other guys do.

What's everyone's lineup if it were up to you?

I got it this way, this is blind not knowing who we're facing yet.

    Jeter SS
Swisher- RF- if he starts out cold in game 1, i put Ichiro back in the 2 spot.
    Rodriguez 3B
    Cano 2B
    Teixeira 1B
Ibanez-DH (Chavez is a nice bat to have off the bench right now as well)
    Granderson CF
    Russell Martin C
    Suzuki-LF

I don't know, i'll probably change my mind 26 times by gametime. Joe G. will ultimately confuse us in the end anyway. wow , look at that, i have a guy who has hit over 80 homeruns and knocked in over 200 runs in the last 2 seasons for us batting 7th. no getting around that 230 average, he did have a tough time at the plate this season, odd as that sounds.

Jones and Nova not on roster. No surprise with Nova but I thought Jones would make it.

I didn't think Jones would make the roster, i'm glad he's not on it truthfully.

You Yankess fans better hope manager Mike Francesser sets a good lineup today and makes good bullpen decisions because the opposing manager has some tricks up his jacket. Also, he might have women's clothing on under that jacket. Something has to be going on under that jacket. Showalter wears a jacket all season. That's not right.

Game finally started. Jeter single up the middle of the infield, just gets past the 2nd baseman

Nunez pinch runs at 3rd, Ichiro hits a dribbler towards first, closer Jim Johnson picks it up but can't make a play. Yankees lead 4-2.
