I'm furious right now. It wasn't even close. If it was close, sure. But it's clear as day that Tex was safe.

Can't wait for the lack of reaction from the media on this call. They are just going to yell about instant replay and not focus on the impact of the AL East race. If the call were the other way around, Yankees benefiting, the internet would have exploded and ESPN would dedicate ESPN 2 show a constant loop of the blown call.

Guys really need to stop sliding into first. Most umpires are so incompetent they'll automatically call you out if you do it.

part of it was probably his hurt calf. You could tell it was straining him to run so he dove the last past. It wasn't even bang bang. It was slide, hand touches bag, elbow on bag/ball in glove, out?!

    red sox/yankees tonight

The Boston lineup is pretty bad these days. Ortiz, Saltalamacchia, and Middlebrooks are all injured.

    On Sunday, it was Kalish-Podsednik-Pedroia-Loney-Ross

Even though the Red Sox are out of postseason contention, and are rebuilding for a while, I would like to see the Yanks sweep them this week.

Jeter injured his ankle late in tonight's game trying to beat out a double play grounder.

then, bottom of the 8th, Soriano vs. Ross. Full count, Soriano misses, but the ump punches out Ross, who goes ballistic. It was runner on 2nd with 2 out.
The pitch wound up way down and Stewart lifted his glove up.

JD Drew I believe got tossed arguing a strike out/3rd out instead a ball and walk. Bobby V just got to get a nice yell in too. K Zone of NESN says the pitch is a borderline pitch. Landing basically on the corner or a little right of their K Zone.

Now a collision at first between Arod and the first baseman. Just a Arod booking it and bad throw taking the first baseman into Arod's path. Neither could avoid each other.

Both stay in the game for now.

At least we got a good start from the worst starting pitcher in baseball.

hughes tossed his best game of the year last night.
2 runs is concerning against the last place sox though. i know it happens, and baseball is baseball, but the yanks need to hit with men on base still, it's not there yet.
Andy on the mound next week, even if not 100%, he knows how to win and will bring a little mojo with him.

man, CC's numbers have been way off in his last few starts.
I hope Andy can be the spark that gets the team playing some ball again.
he's not due on the mound until next week though.
They really have to hit with men on base, it's almost that simple,
    and their pitching of course.
