Cleveland's DH tonight, Lonnie Chisenhall, is batting 9th. I bring this up because Kay kept going on about how Atlanta had Hinske, their DH at Yankee Stadium, batting 9th. He was saying how absurd it is to have a DH batting 9th, it shows these teams are not equipped for it (no kidding, they play in the NL), etc. Tonight he hasn't said a word about it.
junc needs to check in about the worst calls in baseball history again Wise just went into the stands attempting to catch a ball which he clearly didn't (went off the heel of his glove and into the stands), but while he was in the stands, someone stuck the ball in his glove and he came out holding it, so the ump signaled an out. runner on 3rd, 2 outs, that ended the inning.
DeWayne Wise dives/falls into the left field stands and comes out with the ball. Replays show he dropped the ball but he either put it in his glove or someone else did and he got the out. Great effort This happened in the last couple weeks and umps called it out. Don't remember what game though.
it looks like the ball from the game wasn't even the ball in Wise's glove. Someone stuck a different ball in there.
hahahaha thats great. I missed them back from the commercial break and they were mentioning it then Arod homer. I guess there are smart fans that cancel out the dumb fans that get in the way of their own player trying to catch the ball
I just missed the replay again being late from the commerical break. Someone will put it on the internet, they always do
they just showed a replay. The guy who wound up with the ball was several fans away, but the ump both has vision problems and is stupid, so he didn't notice the guy holding up the ball he just got. That is one of the worst calls I have ever seen, but I'm sure junc would say it was a judgment call. yeah I'm sure a vid will be up somewhere, but MLB is very strict about not letting anyone post videos, and MLB won't want to produce evidence of umpire incompetence, so...
I love the fact that bald slob in the maroon shirt is holding the fucking ball in the air when the ump makes the call.
junc would tell you it's a judgment call, not a big deal, and that it didn't impact the game. http://mlb.mlb.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?width=400&height=254&content_id=22614397 Turns out the buffoon who made the call is the son of the ump who made the famous 'shoe polish' call.
John Sterling learned this afternoon that E5 refers to the third baseman, not the first baseman. He also just found out what 'ERA' stands for, and that even if a run is unearned, it still counts as far as determining the winner of the game.
a day after CC was shut down, Pettitte was hit by a shot up the middle from Kotchman and he's coming out in the 5th. 2-1 Yankees
