Wooo a win! Eh their 5.5 back of 1st in May. I think I remember them being in deeper holes in past years. Obviously those years have no influence on future results, but it makes me remain confident they will be fine.

He really should scrap it given how he uses it. It was an okay pitch, but he was so damned predictable with it, and when he misses with it, it gets crushed. Although, he's actually been much better about it this year than he was in the past few years:

    Code:
    Season	Team	FB% CT% CB% CH%

    2007	Yankees	66.2% (91.0)	4.7% (79.8)	22.8% (71.2)	6.3% (80.0) 0.6%
    2008	Yankees	62.4% (91.2)	9.4% (84.6) 22.9% (72.2)	5.3% (80.1) 1.4%
    2009	Yankees	62.8% (93.8)	16.1% (88.4)	20.6% (77.1)	0.6% (83.5) 0.8%
    2010	Yankees	63.6% (92.6)	16.4% (88.6)	16.5% (75.8)	3.5% (84.7) 0.9%
    2011	Yankees	59.2% (91.3) 12.3% (87.2)	22.0% (74.7)	6.5% (83.9) 0.6%
    2012	Yankees	63.7% (92.5)	7.8% (86.5)	17.7% (73.9)	10.8% (84.3)
    Total	- - -	63.1% (92.3)	1.4% (82.0)	11.3% (88.2)	19.6% (74.7)	4.7% (83.2) 0.8%

Less cutter, more fastball/changeup combo. I like seeing the better separation on his fastball/curve, too.

Playing the angels of los angelas of anaheim of california of america of north america of earth.

I despise their team and hate when the Yankees play them. They may not be the Yankees thorn in the side anymore, but they are still in my head

No 'bout a doubt it, the Angels do suck the big one. The Los Angeles Angels of Aneheim: gee, what a cool "let's make everybody happy" CA type moniker. Imagine, the New York Yankees of Yonkers.
Frustrating game thus far. Hughes is staked to a 3-run lead in the top of the 1st (and Jered Weaver left with a back injury) and Hughes promptly hands it back giving up one line drive shot after another in a 4-run Angel 1st....seems to have settled down since then...sort of...

Nick Swisher in RF with his overboard, 'forced' laughing is an annoying semi-showboat. On two occassions tonight he's nearly put Curtis Granderson on the DL if not out for the season with a collision and near-collision; this when replays clearly showed Granderson calling for the ball (CF being the outfield QB). The 2nd incident in particular was really scary and brought the Mets' Mike Cameron - Carlos Beltran collision to mind.

Nice to hear all the Yankee fans cheering however - very loud on Teixeira's HR to cut LAAA's lead to 6-5.

    Fuck Swisher.

(end of this annoying, whining rant)

    Yankees win 6-5 in Anaheim.

Angels have 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. Full count on Trout.

Scioscia sends the runners and Trout fouls it off. One of the announcers starts talking about what confidence Scioscia has to have in Trout to send the runners in that situation.

Trout flew out to left on the next pitch.

Pretty strong outing by the worst starting pitcher in baseball yesterday. Wait, we're allowed to say that now that it's June, right?

I didn't really follow the draft this year, but evidently the Yankees got someone good at #30.

Getting universal praise for this pick. Quite a different story than last year's Cito Culver disaster.

You said starts through June doesn't mean anything, so it's settled. It means nothing.

Also, I never said he's currently the worst starting pitcher in baseball. :)

I said we won't have learned anything by June. You disagreed. Are you saying you've changed your mind and now agree with me? How refreshing.

I like how you have also learned to apply temporal context when judging the accuracy of a statement. Equally refreshing.

You said we won't have learned anything by June. Are you now saying you've changed your mind? If not, you made a post for nothing, because you're contradicting yourself. You can't first say it means nothing and then late decide it means something when it suits your case.

No, I knew it all along. It's you that are having issues with basic reading comprehension here.
