I remember that well and have been waiting for somebody to bring it up. I figured it would probably be you...haha. I still don't know how he lets himself get so out of shape like he did during the season and still stay effective. He's the bionic man.

I was at the game tonight and Kuroda was scaring me. They were hitting him hard the whole night, it's a miracle he only let up 1 run.
Yankees' Andy Pettitte says he feels strong enough to return to big leagues, pitch in Bronx once again http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...urn-big-leagues-pitch-bronx-article-1.1070307 Andy Pettitte’s latest outing in extended spring training against Clearwater saw him allow 10 hits and five earned runs, but the 39-year old lefty pronounced himself ready for his Bronx return following the game. “I feel I’m strong enough and ready to make my next start with (the Yankees),” Pettitte told MLB.com. “I feel good and it was another solid day. I felt the quality of (my) pitches were as good as I’ve had in any of my starts up to now. I feel like I’m ready to help the team.” Joe Girardi said he wasn’t sure what the next move with Pettitte would be but that a decision would be made soon as to whether he needs another minor league start or two or if he’s ticketed for the Bronx. “I think it’s something that we have to talk about, see how he feels (Tuesday) and the next day and decide what’s next,” Girardi said. But with Freddy Garcia already banished to the bullpen, David Phelps promoted to fill his spot and Phil Hughes (1-3, 7.88 ERA) barely hanging on, Girardi would like to see Pettitte come in and stabilize the shaky starters. “I think that’s one of the reasons we signed him,” Girardi said. “We anticipated he could get back to who he was. There are no guarantees. There are no guarantees when a guy’s 39-years-old and he’s taken a year and a half off. But I do know Andy’s work ethic, and I do know what he’s all about. “If anyone can do it, I believe he can do it. My thought is he’s going to get back to that 2010 form the year that he retired and he was pretty good. But time’s going to tell.”
with Swisher injured and a lefty pitching, Girardi played Nunez in left, but it proved costly in the 6th when he misplayed a Nick Johnson bloop, leading to 2 runs.
Can we please see one of the killer Bs please? Hughes is making me ill every time he steps on the mound...
He didn't pitch THAT poorly (4 hits, 1 BB, 4 ER's, 6 K's in 5 2/3). No excuse for the lineup to have a quiet night against Matusz.
Hughes is the one pitcher we can depend on start in and start out...you know he will always suck much the same as Garcia did. He has maybe one more start unless Pettitte talks his way back up before then.
And one of those runs was a run Logan let in. Hughes made two costly mistakes last night, but this start was a hell of a lot different than his previous ones. If people can't see that, they don't know baseball.
Pettitte's ready to return http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/...to-return-but-yankees-a-little-more-cautious/ Could pitch as soon as this Saturday. Girardi said he expects him to start Saturday or Sunday.
