OMG that is exactly where they should have put the stadium! I thought so at the time. Short ride to the Woodlawn station on the 4 line, immediate access to the Thruway, Cross County, and near the Bronx River, Sprain Brook and Saw Mill River Parkways. A short ride to the GW Bridge and the bridges to Long Island. And plenty of space on the site. For the life of me I don't know why they didn't choose that site. As a fan I never minded the actual experience of going to the Meadowlands, but there has always been something creepy about sharing the stadium on a mental level. I was not a fan of the WSS concept - no parking? No tailgating? Made no sense. But a Yonkers Raceway site would have been far better than sharing MetLife with the Giants. They probably think so, too.
That's strange. All I see is waaaaaa waaaaa waaaaaaaa! I'm an attention whore and need my own thread to bash management even though there's already 3 woody threads about the interview. I mean did you honestly expect him to bash his coach and players? Really? You Sanchez haters make my stomach turn. Go root for the Giants.
I get his point. His point was that we made the AFC Championship game in 2010 and 2011. My point is that we didn't make the playoffs this year.
Exactly. It's really starting to piss me off hearing about how they (Tannenbaum/Rex/Sanchez etc.) got to 2 AFC Championship games in response to criticism. Even if they were back to back Super Bowl titles I still don't think they should escape some criticism after an 8-8 season where the locker room completely melted down as bad as it had this year. OH but yet they weren't titles, they were AFCCG LOSSES. Great they got there but that doesn't mean they should be anointed.. If the Jets finish 4-12 next year you could still say "They got to the AFC Title game 2 out of the last 4 years." Give me a break.
stopped reading after Like Francesa said I made the decision to turn off ALL sports talk radio and TV in the beginning of December (other than live game broadcasts) Frankly, the BEST decision I have made in years no Kay, no Francesa, no Benigno, no Boomer, no Lombardi, no Mort, no Mike and Mike NONE of those know nothing turds. Other than occasionally missing the Schmoozer, the results are spectacular I recommend that you ALL give it a try
Dem be fightin words! It's not that they're immune from criticism that people bring up the AFCCG's, it's saying they shouldn't be FIRED because they've brought this team to two AFCCG's. No one's saying they're immune to criticism, at least not me.
Now there's a guy that knows how to make a post. Sports radio talk is nothing but drama. How else are they going to stay on the air? Humans get emotionally attached to things and care more about how some dirtball who isn't even a fan publicly perceives their team, rather than enjoying their own life and awaiting the next season. It's like people think that they have any sort of control over what happens during the off season. With that said, I'm going to listen to the Rex Ryan interview from today
I often wonder what these wacky "fire everybody" types would've been like in the Coslett through Kotite eras. Under their watch we'd have a new HC & GM after every game.
You say this as if the fact that the Jets haven't won the Super Bowl since 1969 has any bearing on what the Jets should do from here on out or how the current players and coaches should be judged by the fans on this board. Some people are new fans and some are old. Some remember the Titans, some remember the SB, some remember the woeful 70's (when the Jets weren't even on TV when they were home), some remember the Mud Bowl and the collapse against Cleveland, some remember the Kotite debacle, while others only have become fans since or after the Parcells years. Doesn't matter in the least. Either you have a good oppinion or you don't (or you agree to disagree). Doesn't matter how long you've been around. The fact of the matter is that less than half of the NFL teams have ever won the SB. Doesn't mean that fans of other (more successful teams) are any better / knowledgeable than Jet fans. Everyone knows that the Jets haven't won the SB in 43 years. And you point is???
The point was to stopped the poster I sent it to from wasting his time when most on this board have not the slightest care that we have won nothing in 43 years
