Bullshit. When the pocket is collapsing, you don't just stand there and take a sack. You roll out to avoid the pressure or you throw the ball away. You're obviously the one who doesn't understand anything about the QB position.

I didnt scroll through all the comments, but the last game of the season of the 2001 season against the Ravens, Vinny threw for almost 500 yards.

ROFLMAO!!! I've heard it all now. Chad learned little, if anything from that putz Vinny, except maybe what NOT to do. Chad was ready to play as soon as he knew the offense. We wasted two years of his career sitting on the bench behind Vinny.

OK Look people here run on extremes. Does Fitz elevate the play of the players around him? Yes or no. He plays well within the confines of the system. He played well but he does not win nor does he loose games on his own. So people here saying he won this game are not entirely correct. Sorry to disagree with you but Fitz is what he is after 10 yrs in the league. This team came together and played well as a group. You want to qb that makes people better look at Drew Breese.

Oh stop it...very few QB's are ready to come in and play on Day One and when we've tried it it's always been disasterous. Sitting for a little while did help Chad.

You didn't give an example of a QB winning a game on his own without help from his WRs or RB. I'm still waiting. Actually, it's probably not worth debating with someone who doesn't know the difference between lose and loose. (I know it wasn't a typo because you did it more than once.)

dude you have to be a dick don't ya. Your right it is not worth debating something with someone who won't admit he is wrong.
Fitz after 10 yrs in the league is what he is period end of statement. he played a a good game. he did not turn over the ball. But you more then likely don't know it is a team sport. With out Marshall Fitz is not in a position to win this game. Marshall is making Fitz better more then Fitz is making Marshall better. But seeing how you like spelling how about this.... Fuck off

Sitting may have helped Chad, but sitting behind Vinny didn't.

Shitty pocket passers rollout. Good pocket passers step-up that is why it is a pocket.

He has very good pocket presence which is why he is not sacked very often with a very iffy line.

Where you watching the same game I was. You step up to escape not rollout.

The sacks Fitz took today, there was no time to roll out or step up. He had zero time on many series to do anything.
He did move around quite a bit most of the game, both up and out.

He played a great game today.

You don't step up when the pocket is already collapsing on all sides, and that's what happened on each of his 3 sacks. He stepped up right into the pressure.

Ravens were on pace to set the 'Best Defense Ever' mark until Vinny and the Jets tore them up last game of the season. Funny thing is Giants tried to replicate the Jets 5-wide success in the SB a month later and got destroyed.

That all depends on where the pressure is coming from. Good QB'S see pressure early and move to avoid it.

Your original post was worthless. All you were trying to do was take credit away from Fitz' play today. Fitz "is who he is"? How insightful. You know what? Everything in this fucking world "is what it is". And my point went completely over your head anyway. I'm done here.

    Yes and no.
Yes this team is coming together offensively AND THERE ARE MANY CONTRIBUTORS, but mostly because they are solidly behind Fitz. The running game is struggling, the OL is doing him no big favors, but he consistently manages to find a way to get that critical first down or TD.
He is a vast improvement from anything we have had in a long long time, and although he does not win games single handlely like you are implying, and BTW even most of the great ones don't, he does absolutely nothing to lose it either, which is a major plus for us and a KEY REASON WE ARE EVEN IN THE HUNT.

It's time to give him more credit about his current performance and less grief about the sins of years past.
