There should only be 5 playoff teams in the AFC this year. I can't buy the "well if they don't make it in, which of the other equally-sucking teams deserves to be there?" None of them....
wow this is some real positive thought but who knows right, if we do make the playoffs, then it is a whole new season
Personally I expected a loss yesterday. Just not so lopsided. Anyone can call me a darksider all you want but you can't call me unrealistic for not being confident going to the Meadowlands Saturday for the game. It's as similar a situation as there could be for both teams and when push comes to shove I think the Giants are the better football team this year when both are at their best.
Playing the first round @ Texas would be the ideal matchup for the Jets. However playing @ New England, Pitt, or Balt (whoever gets #1 overall), the Jets will lose. They have not shown up for any key matchups this year. Why believe that will change? I'm really not trying to be darkside here, I'm just saying, I've seen no evidence that this team can get up for a big game.
Hunter is a major liability. Opponents who understand this destroy Sanchez. Yesterday the screens look horrible as well.
OK, but that's how the system is set-up right now. Every year in the NFL there are teams at 8-8 or 9-7 that get in the playoffs. Hell, even the 7-9 Seahawks got in last year. It's the nature of the beast. The NFL is the beacon of mediocrity ans will continue to be so. It's all about match-ups and execution. Unfortunately, yesterday was not in the Jets favor and I fear Saturday may look the same.
