Pennington or Clemens bias aside, are you sure about your statement? So sure as to spend the 6th pick? To draft a QB that high I would demand more than just a modicum of an upgrade, and I think that was the original sentiment of this thread.
What makes a QB a "Pennington clone"? Ryan doesn't have a noodle arm. He has had mediocre WRs that he makes look like world beaters. Does Ryan have the moxie to pull the defense off sides two or three times a game? Does Ryan know how to outfox the defense going on a quick count from the "sugar huddle?" Is Ryan smart enough to be offered a Rhodes Scholarship? Is Ryan really artful at play-faking so much that the defense (when they are blocked) can't tell what is happening until it's too late when he does it? I get the impression that you guys are chewing rubber and don't like it very much. You're certainly not talking about Chad and Ryan very accurately.
