We had the same number of penalties (7) but ours were way more costly, yard-wise: 93 - 47, almost twice as costly. And their time of possession and total yards were significantly more. The real difference was a few Jet players stepping up and overcoming the incompetence of the coaching, especially Darnold overcoming Bates's play calling. Oh, and the S.T. were outstanding again. Brant Boyer should be made interim HC to finish the season.
The incompetence of Bowles is the coaching equivalent of that of Idzik in the front office and is deserving of just as many billboards calling for his immediate firing. There should be billboards all around Florham Park and East Rutherford calling for the house to be cleaned. It's a shame that these losers only manage to win when it's absolutely in their best interest not to.
It is what it is. I'd rather see Darnold succeed in clutch moments that falter because its a lost season. We will still get one of Williams, Little, Allen, or Ferrell at 5.
I can buy into this--I just don't want to slip down to 7 or 9 or 10, etc. Like to stay at least top 4-5 so we can at least entertain a trade down.
Fair enough, but if we end up winning another game because of Sam then so be it I'm happy as could be. Yesterday we won because of him, he made some beautiful throws on two of the touchdown drives we had and overcame our God awful coaching
Don't get me wrong--I'd like to see Sam absolutely light it up in the coming weeks. Would love to see some 68% comp games, a 3TD 0 INT game, maybe a 375 yard game. Him balling out and beating the Pats in NE would be almost like making the playoffs (so sad). Come April those feelings will wane when we're looking at the 9th pick or 10th pick and someone is trading up to 3 for multiple first round picks.
Brant Boyer is probably the only member of the current coaching staff I'd want to retain at this stage.
