So calling me "idiot" is your witty and informed opinion? What was Brady when he came in? A nobody. A 6th rounder, who if Bledsoe didn't get knocked out by the JETS might never have had the opportunity to start. He BECAME a great QB with good coaching and a good system. By reasoning that the best QB in a class should be a joyous choice then we should have had our "Namath" in Pennington. But we didn't coach him well, we didn't surround him with an O-line to protect him, and we didn't gameplan to his strengths. Clemmens was a HOT pick in the 2nd round. He should have had the chance to succeed. But instead the JETS took the unknown route at a high price, and THAT is a luxury we couldn't afford with such a big need at WR, TE, and in back-ups for both lines.
Which receiver or DE did you want? This is a joke right? A 6th round pick most likely won't an immediate impact on any team causing them to lose any games.
Guys, did you really believe we were going to address our WR needs with our 6th rounder? At best he would have been the fourth-choice, so please stop overreacting.
hey the last two rounds should be all about the lines, chances of finding an impact skill player this late in the draft is nil. generally those 6-7th round steals are lineman (OL or DL) or linebackers. Thats where the value is late in the draft. Would have rather taken Pascoe, but he was gone, so no reason to over react. Also you guys freaking out about a wr, we dont need a #2 or a slot guy, we need a #1, we are never finding a #1 in the 6th round. So its a wasted pick to blow on a WR, we are terribly weak on the lines, and thats where the pick needed to go.
1st and 2nd Downs...Hand-off to Greene. 3rd Down...Short yardage pass. 4th Down...Punt! Vinny T. couldn't have done it better! I can see our offense now.
Guard would have been a great pick in the 6th had we had picks in rounds 2, 4 , 5, and 7. Tanny is great with the cap and numbers but he needs to be shot for this draft.
Matt Slauson is a solid pick - he's started a game at every position on the line except center, he doesn't have any serious injuries in his past, and he's a big fucking guy 6'5 316. Versatility is huge for a team with little depth on the offensive line.
Look WRs usually take 3 years to develop. This is the time for Clowney, Stuckey and Hardy to shine. PLus we'll bring in a vet.
We will not be passing all that much this year. Sanchez will probably be starting and we will run all game long to protect him. So WR is not all that important, look who Flacco had Derrick Mason, quite similar to Cotchery in style and skill, then a big play guy in Clayton who is widely inconsistent like Clowney or Stucky. DE would be nice but if you think a 6 round pick is an immediate starter then you really are stupid.
That's right! Slausson swap meet, and mf'er's better not try and stop me, cuz they will see that I can't be stopped
I feel like a Jets fan again. The last few years we had "popular" drafts and everyone was ecstatic. Now we're back to the uninformed fan crying because we didnt pick WR in the 6th round. This draft went great for us. Maybe we should go WR in the 2nd. but Greene is a fantastic RB.and a 6th round pick, idk what the hell you expect to find other than solid O-linemen. Thomas Jones is on the trading block if he doesn't work a deal soon. I wouldn't be surprised if we make a move to get a WR. Everyone needs to really take a step back for a few minutes and really evaluate the Jets.
