^ Would of taken the deal if one of my other ones went through to trim down my keepers but it didn't. DRAFT WEDNESDAY, GET KEEPERS DONE ASAP OR ELSE. Auto-keeper aka me will choose top 5 offensive players by position rank and top 2 defensive players. If you don't like it then you should of done it sooner than this week.
Wait can we keep 6 Offensive players? or is the max 5 but you can keep 7 if you add 2 defensive players?
Again you can keep as few as 4 and as many as 7 provided two of them are on defense otherwise the max is 6. Yes, you can keep 6 offensive players.
Regarding the keepers, what pick do I lose for each keeper? The keeper leagues I played in before were like you lost the round you picked the person in +1 each year. What I'm getting at is if I go with only 4 keepers am I going to end up with better draft picks?
The keepers are all at the start of the draft. For example, if every team keeps four players then the draft starts with the first pick in round 5. It doesn't snake until round 9 though (if you have the first pick in round 5, you have the first pick in rounds 6-8 too, because of the potential for keepers). Not every team is only going to keep four players though, so rounds 5-7 will have some picks in them. If you keep five players, the draft stats with your sixth round pick and so on. The draft is only the best players not kept/FA's plus rookies.
Ok thanks. One more question, do I get to keep the players I have on IR? Like I have mario manningham on IR, he won't be back until week 6. Can I stash him on the IR and pull him off midseason, or do I have to list him as a keeper in order to have him, and then IR him at the start of the season?
He has to be a keeper in that scenario, you can't leave him on IR before/through the draft since you're only allowed 20 players after the draft. You could most likely put him on IR immediately after the draft and pick up someone else, since IR rules are pretty liberal in this league (if someone's out for a game he can be put on IR and you have four IR slots).
Thanks again. I'm trying to decide if I should keep 4, or if I should be trying to keep 6. Really I think I only have two to three legit keepers (Doug Martin, Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings). But the league is pretty deep, so I'm not sure if guys like Lance Moore and Mario Manningham should be kept.
I just got home from a work trip so I haven't had access. Why was the keeper deadline so early? Should have been by draft time. Whatever, I'll just draft the guys I would have kept.
Well I did need time to fix stuff before the draft starts. If you want you can PM me your list if you get this before 8.
Man, I got locked out of drafting RB's at 3 rather than 4. Ahh well, it was still a lot of fun. Thanks for the invite, looking forward to the season.
Other teams were able to draft 4...you probably preset your limits, that's the only thing I can think of. Besides, you're more than fine if you're the team with Martin, Miller and Mathews. I mean there's only one RB slot and one Flex, which in a PPR is just as likely to be occupied by a WR anyway. It'd be nice if one of these years I didn't open with playing the Cromartie Bunch (two years in a row). Good god, that team is sick. I kinda half-assed it on D this year, but last year after the draft I was stoked and thought I killed it D-wise and wound up being terrible on defense. I did better two years ago waiver-wiring the D after joining midseason. At least I was able to improve my starting offense/depth with Bernard and Garcon. Maybe we shouldn't have the draft this close to the season next year, there were obviously problems with the draft order. I didn't notice beforehand since there were only three teams worse than me so I was 'kind' of in the right spot being fourth, though I scored more points last year than the other 5-8 teams so maybe I should have been farther back in the draft.
btw this was the draft order posted last year (and in parenthesis where people actually drafted): The Draft Order 1. Wyoming Cattle (6) 2. nyj unc (1) 3. Las Vegas Hellcats (correct spot) 4. Billionaire Boys Club (7) 5. Pocono MSUJet (2) 6. NJ RJF/Cromartie Day Care (5) 7. New Jersey Swamps (4) 8. The Boss (10) 9. Oregon Wicked Wombats (correct spot) 10. Vinny Greenballs (8) 11. Johnny ThaJet (correct spot) 12. Avalanche United (correct spot) 13. The Cromartie Bunch (correct spot) 14. Mean Machine (correct spot) 15. ain't easy being green (correct spot) 16. D-day Blitzers (correct spot) Must have defaulted to whatever setup ESPN has cause for some reason the playoff teams were all slotted correctly but most everyone else got randomized.
Yeah I'm not sure what happened, I didn't set anything up but they might have been set from the previous owner. Ahh well, I'll figure it out next year. I was shooting for Christine Michael as my fourth RB. I'm just trying to put together some decent young players so maybe if I get lucky I will have legit keepers next season. You drafted right before me, I was thinking Lacy or Garcon and both were gone! Garcon should be a nice pickup. Your team is pretty good, but yeah The Cromartie Bunch looks stacked!
Either only I could lose this week with Peyton getting 70 or only the Cromartie Bunch could have won. Probably some combo of both...but Ridley's fumble/subsequent benching and Roddy's injury situation ****ed me over - knew I should have played Austin, watch him go off tonight to stick it to me even more.
