I know who you're thinking about and I considered him as well, but IMO Quinn is the best blocking TE in this draft bar none, even the guy we have in mind, and trust me PA, we have the same guy in mind Like I said, Quinn is such a devistating blocker some scouts honestly believe he can play tackle if he was 20+ Pounds heavier, and he actually looked good in his agility drills and catching passes as well, which came as a big surprise because he wasn't even used as a reciever in college, or rarely, but he showed the scouts some nice recieving skills at his pro day But that's not the reason to draft him .. that's what Keller is for .. I'm drafting Quinn as a smash-mouth blocker PS. Gil Brandt recently released his TOP 100 and I believe he had Quinn in his TOP 80, which means a 3rd RD Grade I think he's also in the NFL Draft Scouts TOP 100, or pretty close That's how respected Quinn is as a blocker hmy:
TE Richard Quinn - North Carolina
I'd certainly be behind the Jets taking him in the 4th round then... Or the other guy.. I think that a second TE is more of a need then we think. And if we don't realize this, we could be in for a big surprise on draft day..
Heading out for the evening and the majority of tomorrow. Vikes board sent to WW85, Mr. E, Jabba, and Baker. DH
yeah, it seems he's been my other choice for the past few rounds, and i cringed when i saw you and jabba mention the "other" TE a few hours ago.
My internet died yesterday as we were doing some renovations and it got disconnected. Sorry for missing the pick.
Pretty happy to have gotten Smith for DAL and Davis for NYG, both will fight for a 4th round grade IMO in the real draft. NYG went through it last year that DE depth never ever hurts in case someone you least expect goes down(Osi) Buffalo Bills Rd 1 #011 - Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, Penn St Rd 2 #042 - Jared Cook, TE, South Carolina Rd 3 #075 - Eric Wood, C, Louisville Rd 4 #110 - Gerald Cadogan, OT, Penn St Rd 5 #147 - Louis Vasquez, OG, Texas Tech Rd 6 #183 - Daniel Holtzclaw, ILB, Eastern Mich Rd 7 #220 - Anthony Felder, OLB, California - I didnt make too many sexy picks for BUF because their position players are pretty good for the most part however their O-Line is in shambles with Dockery in WSH, Peters wanting to do a holdout and RT always being up in the air. Got them possibly 3 starters in LG, C and RT taking Vasquez knee can hold up. - I do regret not addressing OLB sooner but the good ones usually went off the board pretty earlier. If worse comes to worse, they can address that in 2010. - Alot of chances all around but for the most part I dont mind the Bills draft. New York Giants Rd 1 #029 - Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland Rd 2 #045 - William Moore, S, Missouri Rd 2 #060 - Victor "Macho" Harris, CB, Virginia Tech Rd 3 #091 - Scott McKillop, LB, Pittsburgh Rd 3 #100 - Tyrone McKenzie, OLB, South Florida Rd 4 #129 - Cedric Peerman, RB, Virginia Rd 5 #151 - Xavier Fulton, OT, Illinois Rd 5 #164 - Davon Drew, TE, East Carolina Rd 6 #200 - Greg Isdaner, OG, West Virginia Rd 7 #238 - Will Davis, DE, Illinois
I think you're going to be disappointed with Aaron Maybin in 2009. He won't be starting. Jared Cook is another project, but IMO he could go as high as #28 to Philly. He has some great potential. Eric Wood is a steal. The Bills have made some decent LB picks in the later rounds, so maybe Felder or Holtzclaw could help. That's a solid draft... I think the Giants need more immediate help then a project like Heyward-Bey. I would have gone for Hakeem Nicks, Brian Robiskie or Kenny Britt (if he was around). I think Moore is overrated and doesn't deserve to go that high. McKillop and McKenzie are great picks and Peerman is very underrated. I would have looked for some OL help earlier and maybe gotten another WR. This is a solid, but not great, draft again IMO. But hey, grading drafts now is pretty much pointless.. I'm only going by needs vs. values for teams. What most call the best draft can become the worst draft in a few years or vice versa.
I brought this up earlier, but what do you think about a few UDFA rounds since this draft has been extremely successful..
Well the Bucs draft is done. Rd 1 #019 - Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas St Rd 3 #081 - Cary Harris, CB, USC Rd 4 #120 - Deon Butler, WR, Penn State Rd 5 #155 - Jonathan Casillas, LB, Wisconsin Rd 6 #191 - Maurice Evans, DE, Penn St Rd 7 #217 - Bernard Scott, HB, Albilene Christian Rd 7 #229 - Cameron Morrah, TE, California Rd 7 #233 - George Bussey, OT, Louisville
Wow is it going slow, I got my guys pegged for chicago at the end but it feels like we are never gonna get there
Why would FiremanEdJr be so anxious to get the Cards pick in but then log off before making his Steelers pick directly after?
The draft is not till the 25th. In my opinion, this draft went way too fast. I didn't expect the next Cardinals pick to come up till this evening and I sign on to find out it was up before noon.
